I thought Dede for instance, would have said they as players will pledge at least ten percent (10%)of their qualifying bonuses to assist any player who gets injured during the qualifying stages but was unable to make it to the finals.
I guess Jerry Akamimko would have been relieved and happy, but not so, the playes themselves are selfish towards each other.

Take for instance their refusal to train ahead of their match against Portugal in Brazil, thereby forcing the govt. to fly cash to Brazil bringing Ghana to international ridicule, is that the attitude of patriotic citizens? It is true they are professionals and must earn from their sweat but they must also consider the number of fans who go to the stadiums in empty stomachs just to cheer them. The only reason why it's so difficult to slash them is that the management are hiding behind the players insisting that the bonuses shouldn't be slashed. If we are able to exclude the management from receiving bonuses, the players wouldn't mind at all. Even the local and the other players who don't make much wouldn't care very much because the are using the call-ups as stepping stones to get better contracts. Therefore, I am sorry that the players always get the raft of this.

A "want" is a verb and it means having the desire or being desirous to possess or do something. It also means having the desire to wish or aspire for something. For example, Kofi wants a pen. Yaa wants a car.

On the other hand, a need is can either be a verb or noun, depending on the subject matter for discussion. In relating to Rahman's case, a need is used as a verb, not a noun.

A need means obligation, being compelled to do or asking for something very important, which a person cannot do without. For example, human-beings, animals and all plants need to breath some air in order to live. Remember that it is wrong for one to say he/she wants some air. We don't "want' air, rather we "need" some air for our survival.

Equally important, we can say all living creatures (human, animals, plants, etc) "need" some water to function well or to live.

In referencing the caption of the article regarding Rahman's statement, he is woefully wrong to say "I don't need $10K to play for the Black Stars", when in fact, it is evident that he also accepts this same "$10K" that he says he does not "need."

He would have been correct if he had said that he does not want the "$10K' before playing for Black Stars. And even with that his remarks may only be right if he has proven and empirical evidence that he does not take his share of the same "$10K" he claims he does not "need."

You see, Black Stars have not won any trophy for Ghana since 1982 and it has been over 34-years that these arrogant players have been misusing the poor tag payers money without having anything to show to Ghanaians. And do you think Ghanaians do not have any right to ask questions?

We live in a nation where many people are not able to afford one or two good meals a day. We live in a nation where millions of people do not have portable drinking water; schools, hospitals and basic infrastructure and amenities.

Black Stars have taken Ghanaians for granted and instead of the players depicting patriotism and try to die-hard a bit for Ghana or win a cup to appease Ghanaians with reciprocal gesture, they always open their mouth and cast unnecessary remarks which are insulting.

There are about 334 countries in the world and Ghana Black Stars and Nigerians are the most highest paid players in the world when it comes to winning bonuses. Are you elated or thrilled that a poor third world country like Ghana pays her players better than Germany, U.S, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina and others?

Please think proactively about the poor in our society. Don't think reactively because I can push you to the wall to react unabatedly. Have a good day, brother.
