Secondly, if this stolen money was used for the benefit of the nation, why then did ndc and Railings denied ever receiving the said money in 1998?

Ghanaians are not stupid to be told this massaged story to restore a modicum of respect to Rawlings.

Now I believe the money received by Rawlings was $5 million and this is my reason. Rawlings took $3 million of this money for personal use and and gave $2 million to Totobi and Obed as their share since they were aware. The so called suitcases were kept by Rawlings for this eventuality.

All did not go as planned at the African Investment Forum in Westminister, London which held the Dec 1 and 2, 2015. An heated exchange between President John Mahama of Ghana and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults with President Mahama losing his temper and calling General Obasanjo “an idiot” and a “stupid buffon”.

This was after Obasanjo openly accused the Ghanian President and his government of financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign. He also accused President Mahama of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa.

It took the intervention of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room to prevent a bigger episode.

The forum, which held from 1st to 2nd December was attended by African Heads of States including; Peter Mutharika President Republic of Malawi, Matata Ponyo Mapon, Prime Minister Democratic Republic of Congo, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf PresidentRepublic of Liberia, H.E. Thomas Boni Yayi President Republic of Benin, John Dramani Mahama, PresidentRepublic of Ghana, H. E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, PresidentRepublic of Uganda and H.E. Charles Gaëtan Xavier-Luc Duval, Deputy Prime-Minister Republic of Mauritius. 8. Bukola Saraki – Through his father, Olukola Saraki, their bank, Societe Generale and as a governor of Kwara State (2003-20111) he stole $1.1 billion

9. Nasir El Rufai – Before he was made the FCT Minister, El Rufai was broke, homeless and was
looking for loan to import taxis from the UK. After he was made the minister, he seized landed properties that belonged to Nigerians and resold them with huge profit. It’s estimated that he stole $1 billion from 2003-2007.

10. Tunde Fashola – He is the poster boy of Tinubu. Both of them looted Lagos dry and left it in debt of about N1 billion. Fashola, among other things built his personal website for N78 million, drilled borehole for over N100 million each and built a kilometre road for N1 billion. He stole $900 million from 2007-2015. He is now a minister to continue the looting.

11. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi – From 2007 to 2015, he stole $700 million and $150 million which adequately aided him to effectively sponsor Buhari and APC.

12. Atiku Abubakar – When he was asked by our reporter how he made his money, he simply said “he was always at the right place at the right time.” Atiku is an astute businessman, but through shady deals, he stole $500 million from 1999-2007.

13. James Ibori – He stole $150 million from 1999-2007 as governor of Delta State. He’s serving
his term for money laundering in the UK.

14. Amina Mohammed – This woman was the founder of Afri-Project Consortium (APC) that was in charge of all PTF Projects during Abacha’s regime. About $125 million was stolen from PTF accounts from 1994-1998. Buhari has just nominated the same woman as a minister to continue to stealing.

15. DSP Alamieyeseigha – He stole $120 million and was arrested for money laundering. He pleaded guilty and long served his term.

16. Sule Lamido – He stole $110 million between 2007-2015 and from that amount, $50 million was found in his sons’ bank accounts. He was arrested and detained for days together with his sons.

17. Rabiu Kwankwaso – He stole $100 million as a governor of Kano State. EFCC has arrested many of his aides and they are “singing” how they siphoned the money.

18. Kashium Shettima – This governor has stolen about $80 million and still counting.

19. Rauf Aregbesola – He has milked Osun State to the tune of $60 million.

Ghanaians are now confusing gifts with bribe. Any present or incentive that is meant to induce or meant for one to compromise his or her position is a bribe. This instance of the NDC Govt. taking whatever amount from the Nigerian Govt. was not a bribe; unless they the Nigerians needed a favor from Ghana at the time. As a matter of fact, it was an Aid to Ghana. I do not think the Nigerians needed any aid or favor from Ghana at that time. One can compare this to the NPP era where the Nigerians (Prez Yarduah) not sure, gave Ghana a number of Police cars to help Ghana policing. I see that also as an Aid. However, the NPP Govt. at the time allegedly claimed to have purchased those vehicles; others also alleged that they needed a favor from Ghana towards the 2002 World Cup qualifiers when Ghana had no chance. If these allegations were true, then, that becomes a bribe. On this issue with the NDC and Rawlings, the amount involved is not an issue because any amount is money, what is important is the motive for giving the money. Like I said , if there was any other motive(s) involved other than Aid, then, I am afraid that was a bribe. And if it was a bribe, who were they or he bribing? Was Abacha personally bribing Rawlings? If yes, in return for what? Was Nigerians bribing Ghana? If yes, in return for what? All bribes are given to induce, if there is no inducement, there is no bribe.
