that's all they do. travel here and there, hang out, put on a tracksuit and be an 'official'. THey have no clue about sports or how an athlete thinks or what he/she needs.When you see how they behave at important international competitions it is absolutely outrageous. So unprofessional! They drink, they party. The athletes need really professional and committed people around them who understand pressures, expectations and competition environment on big stage in order to get the best out of them as a team. And it's not just the GFA.All the federation presidents and their entourage, who they bring along on government expenses thus making sure the hangers on keep voting for them, are groupies and distract athletes and there's far too many of them on show. If we want to get results, we have to have a far more professional attitude and good people around the athletes not people who don't know what they're talking about and just get on the nerves of the athletes and distract them. At night time all these so called officials do is get drunk and do as much womanizing as possible! what kind of example is that to a young athlete?

Minister you are right. Most ghanaians living abroad believes gfa needs to be dismantle. Gfa is killing ghana soccer by calling players undisciplined. An excuse they use to deny honest players. Very wrong.

All the Federations and their presidents behave like the Mafia.they even boast that 'no one can touch them.' if an athlete complains, they get banished, banned, deselected, or sidelined because, like the brutal police in America, they operate in an atmosphere of impunity. Basically they can do what they like. The systemm is this: The Federation members vote for the President of the Federation. Half the time you don't even know when the elections are or who the members are or how to become a member! So basically they control the membership who they then pay back with kickbakcs when they get voted in. Some get trips abroad with per diems, some even go abroad and abscond so it's like people smuggling. The way that all Federations are set up is that each sport federation is autonomous which means that neither the international body can tell the natioal Federatio what to do, and neither can the Ministry of sports or sports authority or even the national olympic committee. So once they're voted in, they are basically dictators. If anyone complains or whistle blows they are banned. ie Martha Bissah because what matters more than anything is that everyone goes along with it. SO it's not about the athlete or the flag or the country. The only thing that can be done is for there to be an inquiry into all the federations and then the government setting up rules for how the federations have to be run ie proper accountability and selection procedures. the governmet does have the right to fire the president of a national federation if they have cause to. Kenya athletics president was just fired by the government. WE THE SPORTS FANS HAVE TO DEMAND A CLEAN UP OF ALL SPORTS FEDERATIONS if we want to see ghana sports prosper and grow.
