Since Rawlings, who came to power forcefully in 1982 penniless is said to currently worth about $50 US dollars must do the right thing and return the $2m he's admitted of accepting from the late Nigerian dictator. The money belongs to Nigeria and must be returned to Nigerians. Why am I saying that? This is because Rawlings and Ndc in 1998 denied ever receiving this money. If the money was given to Ghana and used for the benefit of the country, there would not have been any reason to deny it.
Secondly, Rawlings lied about the reason for receiving this money. He said the money was used to help transition from Military rule to democratic rule. The transition from military rule to democratic rule happened in 1992/93. This $5 or $2 million stolen money was given in 1996.
Rawlings received stolen money for his personal comfort and he cannot be allowed to keep stolen property.

Rawlings is being exposed now because he has refused to do unto others the good they had done to him. Many, including Prof Mills and Prez Mahama showed him unalloyed loyalty and respect when he was in charge not because he was perfect but simply because it is a requirement of divine law to respect one's leader. However, when the time has come for Rawlings to show loyalty and respect to those providence has put in charge after him, he has failed to show respect to them. Recalling the manner he ridiculed Prof Mills and Kufuor while they always showed him respect, and the way he is doing the same to Prez Mahama while Mahama shows him respect, I have no doubt that God himself must be planning Rawlings' disgrace.
