In other areas, we are taking about the so many investment into education, transport, water and the lot.

The President per his mission to halve the 1.6million housing deficit by the end of the year has invest massively into the housing sector with the recent one being the Borteyman housing project.

The cost of power per kilowatts hour in any of these countries is cheaper than what we are paying in Ghana. You don't know anything but you are always the first person to come to the defense of mahama whenever people in certain institutions make comments about things that he is mishandling. The results are the numerous developmental projects dotted around the major cities, villages and strategic points of the Nation.

Per the performance by President Mahama in just eight years, we would not have been where we are today especially in the power situation others of the NPP could have endeavored to add up to the national gride as the NDC has done.

And what makes his comments very instructive is the fact that it captures the very pathetic state of affairs in the country under the leadership of President.

The people of Ghana are now crying for a genuine, competent leadership that will put their interest first; a leadership that will jealously guard the resources of the state, and use them to implement policies and programmes that will inure to the benefit of all Ghanaians and not few cronies and family members.

Political leadership is all about taking the right decisions to affect the development and implementation of sound programmes and policies to improve upon the socio-economic wellbeing of the people.

Effective political leadership is not just about taxing the people and borrowing money to carry out normal infrastructural projects, such as construction of roads, hospitals and schools. This is a duty anybody, including even “apampam” store operators, can do on behalf of the state.

Evidence of effective leadership was witnessed in the country under the previous Kufuor-led New Patriotic Party government that implemented programmes such as the National Health Insurance Scheme, School Feeding Programme, Mass Cocoa Spraying, Free Maternal Care and others that had far-reaching positive ramifications for the lives of the people.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the current leadership being provided for the nation by President John Dramani Mahama. One would have wished that if he could not even build upon the above laudable programmes inherited from the previous government, he should have done everything possible to keep them in the shape he came to meet them. But that has not been the case: the country is rather witnessing deterioration in the implementation of these programmes.

Nothing seems to be working in the country at the moment, and the reason is simple: bad leadership. The outcome of this bad leadership has led to the unfortunate situation where the good people of Ghana have endured eight years of excruciating hardship under the corrupt and incompetent National Democratic Congress government.

President Mahama has done more than enough to convince Ghanaians that he represents all that bad leadership can offer a nation: a leadership that is not decisive; a leadership that takes the people for granted and employs lies, deceit and propaganda as its major tool in dealing with the people; a leadership that has virtually no clue as to how to tackle the basic problems confronting the country; a leadership that is only interested in creating opportunities for cronies to steal the people’s money; and a leadership only interested in the next election and not the next generation.

This is the sorry picture of leadership being offered the nation now by President Mahama. And that is why majority of Ghanaians believe the time for a change cannot be delayed beyond the end of this year.

They don’t have any doubt to believe that entrusting the affairs of the country into the hands of President Mahama for another four years will be a complete cataclysm for the nation.

Abolishing electioneering campaigning 2 months after general elections until three months to the next general elections is very vital . There should be no distribution of any political party ( s) literature etc

In Nigeria where they have dumsor on a permanent basis, no one is asking the Nigerian Electricity and Power Authority (NEPA)for any time table. Why do you want to give the opposition NPP fodder to chew on when you know very well that the current shortages are only temporary. Ghanaians must learn to live with some amount of discomfort. During snow storms in the US, lights can go off for days, no one asks for timetable. Some Ghanaians don't even believe that the activities of Niger Delta terrorist can affect the supply of gas from Nigeria to Ghana. This is very sad and we make comments that encumberances our relations with a good neighbor, who themselves are facing more hardships than Ghanaians. For now, several pipelines are being blown apart on a daily basis. Ghana cannot hold Nigeria to task to supply gas at all cost when that country is facing a dire situation leading to fuel shortages itself. We need to understand that Ghana would never return to the days when even street lights were left on forever. Electricity has been extended to all parts of the country, which has reduced that which was available for city dwellers to have without interruptions. And the people in the hinterland also deserve the good things of life. JJ extended electricity, Kuffour extended electricity, Mahama is extending it as well. We must all share the little that is available equitably. No insults please, just make your point.

don't know how it is produced. The effort of President Mahama in just three and half years in searching for a permanent solution to this energy crisis is very commendable. A timetable is an acceptance that dumsor is back, the President is saying no, God forbid, that is not our portion. May the good Lord banish dumsor forever. Why are ECG workers lying to Ghanaians? Who does illegal connections, etc? Govt wants to privatize an aspect of ECG operations and workers have resorted to lies to discredit govt why? We privatised Ghana Telecom and the evidence is there for all to see. When we were growing up in the 1960s we see so many industries established by Nkrumah and being run by Ghanaians. Before Feb 24, 1966, what did we see? Ghanaians run all these industries down hence divestification. Instead of ECG workers proving to govt that it is capable, they are resorting to politics as a way of covering its incompetences. Let ECG workers prove to Ghanaians they are equal to the task and all Ghanaians will back them fully. In view of the current posture of the ECG staff, are to believe that there is some amount of sabotage in the performance of the duty currently? ECG may have genuine problems in the performance of their functions, but their current posture doesn't engender sympathy, support and strong advocacy for the organisation. No party that will form the next govt will and cannot support the current rude, corrupt and take it or leave it attitude of ECG staff to dissuade it from privatising some aspect of ECG operations.

Thank God even the outside world has an appreciation of what President Mahama has done for Ghana.

Recently he was recognised as the third performing President on the globe.

He has since being honored a doctorate for the recognition the outside world accords him by the University of Scotland.

Mahama cannot just be hailed across the globe, if indeed he was not performing. It is the NPP that would for their inordinate taste for political power who could not see the good works done by our humble President.
