For a whole people,continent, to willingly avail their minds to be abused and brainwashed by "others" mythical stories which has no revelance in our daily realities, culture,enviroment,heroes,and history as africans is so sad.

Infact our ancestors did very well to resist this foreign nonsense.Eventhough the first europeans set foot on our land with this stupidity in the 1470's, our ancestors resisted their crap till 1825 when the first methodist church was established in cape coast...about 350years later. When i tell my Ashanti friends that,in just 100/110years ago,not a single Ashanti was a christian,they're very shocked to hear this truth.Your lot became christians when some fools conquer your kingdom and sent your rulers into exile and forced them to give up their spiritual traditions to be Anglicans. How can a whole African kingdom be Anglicans--A british creation of no useful relevance,even in today's england.How and what a joke?

We need leaders like that. Lee Kwan Yu, last comment on interviews, " China will threat you as you want them to threat you". Meaning, if you want to be treated like a fool, china shall take the advantage. It is up to us to sort out their relationships carefully. Salvation in scriptures teaches that. This article should be on the main pages, because this issue of lack of critical thinking and passiveness in the face of poor governance, corruption etc, is a GHANAIAN issue that goes across all faiths and those with no faith or those who practice local/indigenous religions. As a Ghanaian I see it all the time that there is something in the psyche of most in Ghana where the ostrich approach is used to deal with difficult issues. The excuse is anything from spiritual (as mentioned by the priest) to “it’s now how we do things in Ghana”, to tribal bias, to just pure greed (not lack of money but pure greed).

This is a bigger problem and it goes way past religious issues. Those who want to boil it down to just the issue of Christianity or spirituality or Ghanaians not practicing indigenous faiths....are SERIOUSLY missing a trick.

Ghanaians have a lazy attitude because we are religious and superstitious not because we are not religious. it has always been acknowledged that the more a society becomes religious the less it develops and advances as superstition, intolerance and laziness take over so in america for example the famous "bible belt" region of that country which is the most religious is also the poorest, least industrialized, least tolerant, most racist region of america

Examples: Judaism derives from a Jewish culture and the Jewish God was conseptualized from the Jewish culture. Likewise, European Christianity derives from European culture, and the Christian God, obviously, was conseptualized from European culture. Similarly, all Asians religions derive from Asian cultures and circumstances. To organize their religions, these peoples spent centuries, and by trial and error, codified and their religious concepts and wrote special liturgies or methods of worship.

Africans also have had their religions and their concepts God for thousands of years. But Africans never organized their religions, never codified their religious concepts and never wrote standard liturgies for worshipping. African Christians and religious scholars, therefore, resort to spending decades in schools and colleges copying, imitating, aping, memorizing, adopting and quoting European and other foreign religious models. My feeling is that those Ghanaians or Africans who have chosen to devote their lives to foreign Christianity would be of better service to us if they spend their time organizing our own religions. It is up to them to tell us about that African God. When I hear these Chritian Scholars vociferously defending Chritians conpepts and quoting from the Bible, they remind me of highly indoctrinated slaves defending their masters.

In this 21st century, most Ghanaians still easily attribute disease and death to sin, witches and ghosts, instead of germs and traditional foods with excessive salt and oil.
