The jail term may appear to be 'harsh' and appeals by Ghanaians, repeat, by Ghanaians, for a reduction, may be in order, although others feel the convicted trio deserve that. Reducing it will not be because they do not deserve it but because they seem to now appreciate how foolish and reckless they were and because many Ghanaians may not mind if the sentence is reduced. Those instigating party faithful to put undue pressure on their leaders should think twice. The Supreme Court is not a political party. The President, once elected is for Ghanaians today and generations to come, and for strong national institutions, including the rule of law and justice for all which the Chief Justice, supported by our President, is championing. The President of Ghana is elected by party supporters but also by many who may not support his party! At least henceforth the stage is set for all; the axe will fall from the Supreme Court where it must fall as happened in 2013 when we, by acts of commission or omission, when we as citizens, called to be good citizens, fail to promote the true African culture of rule of law and mutual respect. No crossing the red line by all! Our national motto is 'freedom and justice' NOT 'fredom'!!! No country stands on one leg of freedom!
