I remember these guys warned that "if the judges create civil war in Ghana,they will not be exempted so they have to be mindful of what they say.They should remember that terrible things have happened to some 3 judges before so they can't run away if they create civil war in the country".They were making specific reference to one of the judges who made a statement that "the Supreme court will not sit down for EC to plunge the country into chaos".Was it necessary for the judge to warn EC in this way when the judges themselves have ordered the EC to comply with applicable laws of the country?Afterall,at the end of the day the Supreme Court abrogated the applicable laws and issued a decree for EC to delete the names of nhis registrants in the voters register.So now what kind of applicable laws were they talking about when as a matter of fact they could not use any applicable law?I'm deeply sad for Ghana today.Thank you.

Yesterday's jailing of the "MONTIE THREE" seems to be the ICING of the cake, if allowed to stand. Fortunately there is a constitutional way the President can halt this by pardpning these POLITICAL PRISONERS. This would be legitimate of halting the opposition NPP from using Suprieme Court to once again, as it were, call the shots even though NDC is the party in power.

The apathy that would set in in the NDC if the President faills to use this constitutional prerogative could cost him the presidency at the Elections.

It is not for nothing, the incendiary verbal attack on the Supreme Court judges, happened at the time it did.
30th June, 1982 was a dark day in the annals of the history of Ghana. Three Appeals Court judges were picked from their homes in the middle of the night, driven to a faraway military base, shot and killed at close range. Their bodies were drenched in petrol and then set on fire. There was a heavy down pour on the night of the murder. The rains prevented the bodies from being completely burnt. A night curfew was in place at the time. Which means, no other security personnel except, those close the the functioning government, the AFRC led by Jerry Rawlings, could obtain a pass to move in the night.
The problems of the Appeals Court judges were that they sat on cases to free properties that a previous government, had confiscated to the state. Cpls. Amedeka, Tsepkor, Nsuowuo and two others were identified as the culprits who did the actual killings. Four of them were executed after trial by a special court. It is said, the men were executed even before final judgement was pronounced. The men had been fooled by bigger brains who had ill-advised them to carry on the act. They began to name names but alas, it was too late, they were executed so the big brains could live their sheltered and happy ' lifes.'
Thirty five years on, Koku Anyidohu's statements before and after the Montie 3 have opened a window of opportunity for historians particularly, all men and women of reasonable age at the time, to put two and two together. They may come to some conclusions. Ato Gunn, Tairo Nelson and Mugabe may not have so much vested interest in an outcome of the Abu Ramadan and the EC case before the Supreme Court. But alas, Koku Anyidohu has. The reason that lead the Montie 3 to behave the way they did. They should count themselves lucky, to have got away with a light custodial sentence and a slap on the wrist, of a fine.
Have young men learnt any lesson from the past? Whereas, those for whom the young men go to any extent to debase themselves, live in opulence with properties acquired on their backs, educate their children in the best schools here in Ghana and abroad. These fellows are happy for being close to the source of political power and content, with the crumbs that fall off their dining tables. The young men should rewlize that after you have been tainted and become old and weak and perhaps, sensible somehow, not to play the jackass you are known to be, they will dump you. For now, you may fool around in bliss. You will live to serve their children as well, in coming years.
