These are judges fighting a course that will bring peace for the whole country , so why would you as a journalist call for their heads?

And it has happened in this country before, when judges were brutally murdered during JJ's revolution era. It's about time to crack the whip on those unprofessional journalists.

Although I agree with Prof. Kwaku Asare on this issue professionally, the Montie 3 did not even deserve any hearing, prior to being jailed, based on the history of the party (P/NDC) they belong to. The 3 High Court Judges who were abducted on June 30, 1982 and shot in close range by government functionaries, were never giving any deserving hearing, prior to being liquidated. For this particular history that was re-echoed on the 34th anniversary of that unthinkable crime by the MONTIE 3, they could have been given a "death sentence" by the Supreme Court of Ghana, and I could lend the Court my unqualified support! They deserve what they got, President Mahama should not use any provision in the Constitution of Ghana to bail them out of confinement, just to serve as a deterrent. These trio does not deserve any sympathy.

I wrote that here yesterday,the president should have been bold to invoke the article 72 immediately that bogus ruling was announced and make sure those guys do not step foot in any prison grounds, we should have asked the police not to touch those guys driving them to any prison grounds,that ruling was the most outrageous ruling which will not happen even in Taliban's court,very backward ruling.

We cannot use the courts for vengeance,that is not the reason why the courts are set up,shame on that court.

If we are copying other cultures, let us copy rightly and if we want to do things right, let us do them well.
Imagine you have a case against you in court and your opponent pays someone to be giving you a bad press, what would you do. It is disheartening and I am not surprised Wayome has finally realised he has to file a case against Kwaku Baako and others.
In fact, if Kwaku respected the judges and expected a fair judgement of Wayome, I expect him to have had some decorum on how he used and influence the case on media time and time again. I pray he gets what he deserves just like these three and let everyone back off from the courts.

Now, much as I hate the Montie three amigo's verbalization over the Apex bench, I will equally not condone the selective justice meted to these three to justify the treasonable statement they perpetrated on the airwaves that day.

Well, my argument is, weren't we here in this same country when the likes of Kennedy Agyepong did likewise on a radio station of his? How could this same Apex court of the land be dismissive of others who passionately call for the killing of a specific group of people and then chose to go hard on other who do same on another day? I suggest that article 72 and other articles that give the President certain privileges need to be taken out of the constitution. the supreme court's ruling must be final else other people may commit serious offences under the guise of one political party and expect the president to pardon them.

He was able to jail Tsatsu, when NPP cried that Tstasu's freedom was dangerous to the chances of Nana Addo. He also set taxi drivers free, when NPP supporters cried that their imprisonment caused Nana in the first round of the 2008 elections. I share the view of the Professor of Law and Lawyer. The Judge in this case could never have been impartial.

She was too close to the Judges the culprits had specifically mentioned in their idiotic utterances that drew the contempt charges.

Moreover, she is too politically inclined towards Akufo-Addo, and could easily have grudges with the incumbent Party, following the latter's loss of his Election Petition case against the NDC.

I did also suspect in my earlier submission that an Appeal may not be available to the culprits and that would amount to outright Judicial tyranny.

Folks must deeply think about this view of the Professor's and not dismiss it as some politically driven criticism. Those of us who worry about Judge Sophia Akufo's trial of the case do so purely for the sake of Judicial neutrality and Fairness, untainted with Politics, and other biases.

Secondly the convicts' behaviour could have plunged the country into chaos, lawlessness and even a civil war. so therefore the convicts deserve what they have gotten or even more, not even for their intension to commit murder but also for moving the country very close to the doorsteps of a civil war.

For if one group threatens the judges to rule in one direction and another group demands the judges to rule in the opposite direction then no matter how the judges rule, a civil war may result.

It is pathetic.The president should cure this evil of inequity in the administration of justice by invoking without delay article 72. This will deter dubious judges from making unconscionable rulings as if they have the final say. No! They do not in criminal prosecutions.I also sensed a tinge of presumption in the tone of Justice Akufo when she said not even the president could control the judiciary. That is True. But did the president make any such unconstitutional move? If not,then why the roping in of the president? Or it is a show of hostility towards,and contempt for and disrespect for the president? The president cannot control judges but he can RESTRAIN them. That is the essence of Article 72. This matter has transcended the confines of legal colloquy. The justices,admittedly ,acted within the law. SO too,will a presidential pardon be perfectly legal. It is the law,not ethics,that we all are speaking.Act now, Mr. President. In deed, MERCY is Mightier than the ruling of a judge. That point ought to be made with all the might humanly conceivable.
