  In order for technical and vocational institute to be succesful in turnning it´s own well groomed PhD holders, who will be able to contribute to the development of the country, which, we yearn for, government needs to fall on countries such as Germany and Japan to lead us.

  THESE IDIOTS KNOW,VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS ARE THE BACKBONE OF ECONOMIC GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT OF A COUNTRY, THART PRODUCES QUALITY SKILLED ARTISANS AND TECHNICIANS IN BUILDING DYNAMIC INDUSTRIES IN A COUNTRY.
  
  WHAT IS EVEN SAD, WAS THE TURNING OF TARKWA TECHNICAL SCHOOL THAT WAS THE BACKBONE FOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT INTO UNIVERSITY OF MINES.
  
  HAVE THE MANY UNIVERSITIES IN THE COUNTRY MADE A ''DENT''TOWARDS THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.
  
  WHY IS THE NATION STILL IN THE MIDST OF POVERTY.IT IS BECAUSE, THOSE GRADUATES WHÓ COME OUT EVERY YEAR FROM THESE HIGH INSTITUTIONS CANNOT INNOVATE AND TO ACCELERATE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE COUNTRY.
  
  TURNING VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL SCHOOLS INTO TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES IS A MAD ADVENTURE, AND THE EARLIER SUCH AN IRRATIONAL DECISION IS PUT TO A STOP THE BETTER WILL IT BE FOR THE PRESENT AND THE NEXT GENERATIONS.

  This affection for technical universities is not based on any research on the suitability of TUs and the upgrade of polytechnics institutions to the educational & economic development of Ghana.
  
  The aversion to community colleges is unexplainable. They have played remarkably in America's development, and we need to study their impacts. There should be a community college in every region or city. Google community colleges.
  
  We must invest & improve our universities to make them top notched educational institutions tailored to our developmental needs.

  Technical universities will be an improvement on the already existing polytechnics not change of mandate as speculated by many . One major fear of the traditional universities (including GIMPA)is their inability to get students for their so call top ups programmes which targets Polytechnic graduates . Why should a technical skilled graduate from the Polytecnics go to a traditional university to do grammer programme for a top up, this must stop . Welcome technical universities .
