"The family of former Bawku NPP MP, Mr. Adamu Dramani Sakande has commended President John Mahama for granting their kinsman Presidential pardon.

The jailed New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP was dragged to court by a Kumasi based cattle dealer, Sumaila Bilbil over his dual citizenship status.

Mr. Sakande was sentenced to two years imprisonment after he was found guilty of false declaration of office, perjury and deceiving a public officer.

As a constitutional requirement, President John Mahama tampered justice with mercy by granting the former Bawku MP Presidential pardon.

The Brother to the former MP, Mohammed Tahidu Nnambe told Citi News “we are very grateful to the government, especially the President for this pardon because it is hard for somebody to sympathize or empathize with someone who has been incarcerated.”

This is not about killing his 2nd term bid or anything. John Dramani Mahama's bid is dead and buried, it doesn't exist anywhere in Ghana presently.
It does seem the petition apart from the sheer irresponsibility of it, is a clear challenge to the leadership of John Dramani Mahama in that their NDC party and gov't by their members in trying to rescue their party from irredeemable and total collapse after the 2016 elections.

Someone, has boldness to publicly announced his intention of killing chief Justice, and other Judge's and people calling for pardon. His excellency should come out, and explain to his party members how important to give respect to our supreme Court Judges. Given that that is the only place that we run to when we have disagreements, we must be careful how we respond to decisions made by the judiciary. Let anyone who has reservations about the Supreme Court's verdict on the Montie 3 go for a judicial review.
