Mismanagement, deceit, lies, propaganda perhaps, the combination of all, have steadily but assuredly, brought Ghana to its knees. How come properties of almighty VRA are being handed over to start up companies, like the ones we read about? Volta River Authority is one of the few state institutions that have been properly managed, since the Canadian managers handed the Authority over to an all Ghanaian management team, in the late sixties. They successfully and professionally managed both the authority and the Akosombo township. I have lost the trust I have always struggled to hold on to for our nation. I am just waiting for the day and hour Volta River Authority, with all it's holdings: the dams, power stations, transmission lines, the school, hospital, will be handed over to an Amerigate company.

We deserve transparency in how our government deals with our national assets.

VRA spent so much money to acquire these assets and we all know that VRA is seriously indebted. So my question to my government is this; instead of commandeering these assets and giving them out to others on pro bono to generate profit for themselves, why don't you allow VRA to lease these assets to the interested parties so that VRA too can also cover some of its investments?

Am not too happy with the way my government acts sometimes. This is not how you run a for-profit organisation. This nonsense must stop. I dislike NPP and don't want to see them in power but NDC is handling some issues the wrong way and it bothers me as a citizen of Ghana.

Why take our asset and just hand it over to someone else to use it to make profit and stick it to us at the end of the day?

How is VRA going to account for these assets on its Balance Sheet? Should they write them off as what?

And now to the agitating workers. I think it is right that they are up in arms against this arrangement but they should also know that they don't own the assets of the company. They shouldn't take the law into their own hands. Those Rawlings' Workers Defence Committees (WDCs) and People’s Defence Committees (PDCs) are past and gone. We are in a different dispensation now.

If the assets are presently not being used in production activities, the best that Ghana can derive them is to lease them to whoever in the power generating sector who needs them.

The "Father-Christmasing" must stop. It is about time we run things as profit-orientated entities. The nonsense must need. How can the deputy minister be talking of "good business" and be giving away stuff for free? Does he even qualify to be in that position in the first place?

These companies are taking over these assets to make profit for themselves, that is the main purpose of their existence and we must not be giving them free stuff because we have a problem and they want to solve the problem for us for a fee/profit. At the end of the day, they are not doing the damn fucking thing for free, they will bring us a bill to pay. Yes, they that we are giving free stuff, will bring us a fucking bill to pay.

Lease the assets to those that need them and stop behaving like you are stupid fools. Am getting tired of the perpetual nonsense. Sometimes you people make Bawumia look like a genius, but he is not.

Take the government to court and VRA staff have right to go to court too . Drag the case through to the electiion year end. Karbo was mahama's goro boy and not even a barber, that would have been too big a post as a barber. What does karbo know about energy economics, mangement and distribution of electricity that VRA engineers do not know better? A Deputy Minister, not even an acting minister taking front and center of such enormous negotiations with huge implications for and on behalf of Ghana? Cm'on my fellow Ghanaians, Mahama is at this point irrelevant in Ghana's politics. He is just a lame duck man waiting to exit the stage and so must use every availble chance to steal the more from Ghana. A liar and not thrust worthy to sign contract for Ghana.
