Good Luck Team Ghana. There has to be a major overhaul and inquiry however into the sports sector. THere is no reason why Ghana has not wona medal since 1960s. The talent in Ghana is huge. The problem is not even the money. It's the management of the resources and the federation leadership. Lots of chiefs, most of whom lack experience on the international stage. So if Ghana really wants to do well, it has to clean house from top to toe and within one Olympic cycle you will see massive results. It's easy. It just has to be done.

The ministry of sport and youth needs to tackle this issue and within one Olympic cycle you will see results. But until this is done, it's just money wasted down the drain.

In Ghana, the athletes are considered poor people who are running or doing whatever because they have to and grateful for a little stipend and a ticket to travel. Therefore they are used by the Federations as puppets of the federation. If they speak up, they get banned so that the federation bosses can do whatever they like without getting challenged. In other words if we change the paradigm and make the athletes the important ones in this equation rather than the administrators, it changes everything. In Jamaica, they value their athletes. In Ghana, they piss on them if they can get away with it. I've seen it with my own eyes, the administrators are bullies to the athletes and do awful things to them.

An absolute disgrace that she was not selected for Rio and raises HUGE doubt over the professionalism and competence of the whole system. That is why there has to be an open inquiry. There is no reason why Ghana has not won anything since the 1960s. It is because of the management not because of lack of talent. It is nothing to do with moneyeither. Smaller nations with less resources do better than Ghana. IT is because of management pure and simple. The existing resources could be spent better if there were wise and professional people in charge.

I want to know how many people went out as part of the delegation. 15 athletes but how many hangers on?? Also it was an absolute shame that the reporters said that 'ghana team almost didn't make it to the Olympics because of financial problems' as the ghana team came into the arena for the Opening ceremony. A goddamn shame. Ghana is a proud and progressive country, the image is so destroyed because whether we like it or not, sports is our international image bearer and that's why it has to be properly run,supported and all corruption stamped out. No other country, even the small tiny island ones, had that kind of comment as they entered the arena. Very embarrassing.
