This bill is a backdoor discrimination against men and goes against Ghana's constitution.I challenge women in Ghana to show examples of being discriminated against in the country?Ghana outperforms so many countries in the world when it comes to women holding top positions.Admission of girls into our universities is almost equal to that of boys.When it comes to politics several women are now MPs,ministers and deputy ministers.Gender discrimination which the Affirmative Action Bill seeks to promote is not the way forward.It undermines the constitutional provision that no ghanaian should be discriminated against on the basis of gender.The bill discriminates against men and parliament must reject it.

It's a high time our lawyers and political appointees stopped picking ideas and concepts which other leaders elsewhere have adopted them to address particular and peculiar situations. They must think to opinionate ideas that will locally improve and address local problems so that other states can emulate as well. There has never been a formal legislation, discriminating against women in Ghana, why then do we need affirmative action ?. The majority of our women in politics have not performed beyond insults, bossism, sycophancy, bribery and corruption, self - aggrandizement, blatant disrespect and other negatives, why do we gamble our destiny unto the bosom women with inconsiderate impunity? Think like other sensible women like Margareth Thatcher, Yaa Asantewaa, Angela Merkel whose priority, was the development of people in their countries and the preservation of women and children , and not selfish political hooliganism. We need Equality and not Affirmative Action.

The minister spoke of the affirmative bill and that is her decision and their plans for it clearly stated. Immature Ghanaians will not analyse the the decisions of the minister according to what she said; say what is right or wrong with it. All they can do is attacking the personality of the minister. To me character assassination is an exhibition of immaturity and it tells how much wisdom one lacks rather than the little knowledge your parents might have tought you.
