As a northerner in NPP, you are only valued for your vote and if you can convince your fellow Northerner to give your vote to those who insult them. So long as you are useful to NPP, the Akyem/Ashanti mafia will praise you high heavens and the northerner will feel like he is the best in this world. This spurs the northerner on to do even more - as we see in Bawumia!

It is when a northerner wants a sensitive position in NPP that he realises that he is in deed an outsider. When Aliu wanted to succeed Kufuor, only Northerners voted for for him. Afoko thought the attitude to northerners did not apply to him and forced himself to win the NPP National Chairmanship - where is he now? Afoko has had the rudest awakening to the reality.

As for Bawumia, it is as sure as the sun will set today and rise again tomorrow that what will happen to him he will hang himself. Imagine Bawumia vying with Alan for the chance to suceed Nana! Bawumia will be limited to only northern support. And it wont be long for this to happen. After all Nana will lose the 2016 elections and NPP will have to get an replacement

Part of the blame should be put at the doorstep of people like Afoko, Agyepong et al, who benefited tremendously under fmr. President Kufour, and are now seen as "obstacles" by some of their own colleagues within the party; and hence to be ruthlessly dealt with!
For me, I am not in the least surprised by the Machiavellian-manner, through which these 'internal dissenters' or saboteurs have been put! I bet the C.J cannot wait for next June to come around, so she can step aside, and enjoy the perks of her office, with perhaps an appointment to the Court of St. James, as a High Commissioner, to boot, should her 'friends' come to power!

Ordinarily, one would have thought that having run the gentleman [Afoko] out of the party, characters such as, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Minority leader, Bugri Naabu, the party's fiery Regional boss, who in no small measure, helped to orchestrate Afoko's ouster initially ,would be clandestinely working behind the scene, to get Afoko, to roll over and play dead, so this mischievous and very calculating gang, can enjoy a smooth sailing to power!
What an evil bunch; and I really pity that 'little patsy' and errand boy, Bawumiah, who foolishly believes that the "throne" would be his after Nana Addo is gone! Let him go back into the party's records, and recall what his own boss once told other 'pretenders'; namely to WAIT THEIR TURN! If he believes something really significant has changed to alter such a mindset, then I suggest that he thinks again; and again!

I watched with utter disbelief when another High Court Judge of the Human Rights Division, let the former boss of UT bank, get away with 'murder' in his financial dealings with a customer. I am not privy to the inducement that was offered then, to obtain that particular 'upside down' or warped judgement, but instinctively, I could tell something was not right! I suppose that also counts as "political bias" in your book, right?

That is exactly what many of us with some modicum of fairness and honesty in us saw in the verdict by Justice Yeboah. It was obvious, in the face of the facts available and glaring incidents of blatant antagonism against Afoko and Agyapong by their adversaries, that the Judge had erred in his ruling against Afoko.

It is only those who do not care for truth and fairness like the Akyem Mafia of the NPP that would welcome the verdict. I am glad that Afoko would not take it helplessly but seek an Appeal at a higher Court where the case is more likely to be heard without bias.

Justice Yeboah, by this verdict, has hugely tainted his integrity. And such a verdict only goes to confirm the supposition by many folks that Akufo-Addo, somehow, seems to have a sway over much of the Judicial System in Ghana. A most likely reason for such a cozy relationship between the NPP Presidential candidate and many of the Judges who would never convict him or his stooges in any case that could impede his quest for the Presidency is the fact that his Law Firm has been an incubator for fledgling Attorneys who eventually become Judges.

But Judges must not mete out judgment in cases with bias. Period!
