His infrastucture programmes have indicated that there is nothing in his head better than the underpasses he is building.Who will be interested to drive on those effigies if they have no money to buy food to feed heir children,no money to pay for electricity,no money to pay for health insurance,no money to pay for wards school fees, etc.What he is doing is good by themselves,but had forgotten that he is dealing with Human beings and not spirits.He has been boasting far too long that,he is 2nd to none in building infrastructure in the country but he must apply wisdom and look at the reality of life.

The whole episode was a crass miscarriage of justice. The judges constituted themselves into the investigative body, prosecutor, jury and judges. They are the real culprits and not the President.

If the KILLING was directed at Mahama himself, and the RAPE at his wife, whose hands look like a flat pancake, would he have still pardoned those potential psychos?

The judiciary is the ONLY pillar behind DEMOCRACY and RULE OF LAW. Take it away or RUBBISH its rulings, and you have NO stability and security, but ANARCHY.

Just like its unlikely all legible Ghanaians voted for Mahama to be our president, so it is true that not all Ghanaians would agree with verdicts coming form our courts of law, but we have to respect court rulings and let it serve its purpose.

The FACT that those convicts admitted the offense, and asked for "mercy", it surely without a doubt vindicates the Supreme Court judges that the trio were guilty as charged and should have served the time given.

So, now what is the precedent this thoughtless president has set? That one can threaten anybody with murder and rape and rubbish our system, and collect petition signatures to the President and the so called council of state and be off the hook and middle finger raised against the judiciary? There is a very good reasons why democracy has SEPARATION of POWERS. The president had no right to misuse the clemency powers albeit irresponsibly and devoid of commonsense and deeper thought to it. Did this man we call president think about the ramifications of this action he took? This president is simply lacking in commonsense. Our constitution bars such people from holding that position he is holding now. Mahama's action proves clearly that he's dangerous to national security. Ghana deserves better!!!

I'm no politician nor do I have leanings toward any individual sentiment. My business is to put this matter in perspective devoid of the coloured lenses of emotion and bigotry.
In my humble layman's opinion, the judiciary undermined themselves when they became the police, prosecutor, judge and executioners in the matter under scrutiny. To have arrogated to themselves a nonexistent constitutional and/or legal right to prosecute a case in which the said judges whimsically considered themselves victims of a 'crime', sat on and passed judgement on same is a capricious and singularly illegal act and a profound abuse of power bordering on criminality. In their haste to stamp their 'authority', (which authority is enshrined in and governed by clear rules and limits) they deliberately hijacked due process for personal/fraternal considerations and unilaterally extended the boundaries of our legal code by deciding capriciously what constitutes criminality outside of its legal confines and redefining what established process of redress is.
It is my understanding that, ( and I stand to be corrected regarding the totality of this submission) a case in court requires a defendant, plaintiff, prosecutor, defense attorney, witnesses and a judge/jury etc. Which individual or group filed a case of threat in this case? Who investigated and prosecuted the case? Where were the witnesses? When the matter was called in court who was the identifiable plaintiff? How was it possible for this matter to be heard in court in the first place when due process was flagrantly disregarded? If the esteemed judges believed themselves threatened, any one of them including those who sat on the case and those who 'recused' themselves could have filed a case of threat using due process.
History has taught us to be wary of miscreants in our midst especially those who advocate hate and violence. The judiciary have sadly been victims of this savagery in our recent past. But while we must condemn any such misdemeanor in uncertain terms and keenly protect judicial independence, we cannot by the same principle condone judicial 'savagery'. The ramifications for such conduct is frightening for society especially in the wake of evidence of high-level corruption in their own ranks. Such acts cannot be tolerated!
If anybody or group has insulted our sense of good judgement and societal order or brought justice into disrepute, it is the judges themselves who initiated this legally bankrupt case. The judiciary as an arm of government is not, cannot, must not be seen to be above the law. They are subject to the law.To have violated the very guidelines in the constitution which provisions guide your actions is to undermine the constitution and your authority provided under it which renders you unfit for judicial duty. And where there is precedent all citizens are in danger of arbitrary legal subjugation and consequent loss of our fundamental rights as citizens. The very thing the montie 3 crudely attempted to illustrate.
Where justice is oppressed, chaos inevitably ensues. A word to the wise.....
