The considerations were that, they never went to court to justify their utterances, they appeared before the Honorable court to plead and apologize. They show remorse and pleaded, that alone should be a factor. Secondly, theirs is not the first time to happened, it has happened before, people pleaded, some were left of the hook, others were punished; the longest service was 10 days! Why these huge fines and four months? This is where some Ghanaians feel it is too much considering precedence set by the same Supreme Court. Apart from being their own prosecutors and judges, the court's decision was taken on purpose, it has a motive; and I can say, it is politically motivated but not deterrence necessarily. No reasonable dude will want to justify their utterances but what we are saying is that the sentencing was to harsh and they have nowhere to appeal. Ghanaians should be known by now, those who will kill will not announce their intentions; was there any announcement made by those who eliminated the three judges? No! Some Ghanaians think they deserved to be pardoned and that the punishment was too much, not that they supported the unfortunate. At least they have served one month!
