flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party has ordered for the suspension of Ten (10) constituency executives of the Bosome-Freho constituency for sympathizing openly with their National Chairman Paul Afoko in his suit against what some others have described as “The Intolerant Militant Wing” of the party, among other reasons. This isn’t the first time something like this is happening. Indeed, all executives who thronged to Accra voluntarily from various constituencies across Ghana, to protest peacefully against the suspension of their party’s National Chairman last year in November were slapped with same suspension by Akufo-Addo.

Our news desk can authoritatively report that, Chairman of the party’s disciplinary committee Dr Amoako Tuffour who was once convicted for raping the Agent of Millionaire Bill Gates to Ghana, at the National School Feeding Program’s Head Office in Accra, has served notice to the constituency Chairman of Bosome-Freho over his intention to summon the Ten party executives. According to a deep throat source at the Ashanti regional secretariat of the party, “Our flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo called Chairman Wontumi and Amoako Tuffour to immediately suspend any executive who joined in to sympathise with our National Chairman Paul Afoko at the court last Monday. Amoako Tuffour has said that, the orders they have received from Nana Akufo-Addo is that, anyone desiring to join the embattled National Chairman Paul Afoko in his law suit should just tender in their resignation or face sacking from the party.”

Also some constituency executives in the region have wondered why Nana Akufo-Addo, barely three months into an election, will not concentrate on his “APPEAR AND DISAPPEAR” campaign but rather bent on persecuting members of his party for having an “INDEPENDENT MINDSET.” It is said that, since 2007 after his assumption to the flagbearership position of the party, Akufo-Addo has always imposed his will on the party such that in worst situations, he instigated for the amendment of the party’s constitution to suit his whim in 2009. Recent developments suggest that, Akufo-Addo in connivance with his handpicked acting Executives of the party, intends to amend the party’s constitution in 2017 to suit the agenda of Akufo-Addo and his Kyebi gangs.

Some party members are of the view that Akufo-Addo is not interested in winning the Presidency but how to Control the party and keep the party for a very long time with Kyebi. They support their contention based on Akufo-Addo’s intense dislike for unity. Whiles some party members have described Akufo-Addo as a “Demagogue” , Many party supporters have accused Akufo-Addo of creating and deepening division within the NPP party with his intolerance and dictatorship rule.

An independent Political science analyst Professor Jude Nortey has asked that” after Akufo-Addo has sacked all Independent Minded persons from within that party under the cloak of suspension, does it mean he has suspended their votes , the votes of their families, friends, loved ones and sympathizers? This is strange. I have never seen a political party going into an election with such intolerant leader , with an acting Chairman and acting General Secretary and even with a fractured party. It rather tells us one thing, that Akufo-Addo hates Unity and with him as a President, our Nation is doom since he is going to segregate us without caution and we can’t criticize him. People join political party voluntarily, and Akufo-Addo says they shouldn’t have a mind of their own? This isn’t leadership but tyranny and inherent intolerance. Ghana needs something better than this, am sorry”

Some of us sometimes say things without really thinking deep. I have heard this statement, "Nana is desperate for power", God knows how many times by Mahama's supporters. But are all these leaders (Nana and Mahama) not fighting or campaigning to win the presidency? You want to tell the world that Mahama is not interested or serious to keep his power as the president and it is we the people forcing him to be our president? Is Mahama like an uninterested royal who is being chased or forced to be a traditional chief by his people? You think seriously about it. If Mahama is not interested or eager to maintain his presidency why is he wasting his precious time running around, dishing out our resources as gifts to chiefs and other citizens for votes? If Mahama does not believe that he is eager to continue being our president then he should not waste our time. We need someone who is really interested in the job. I hope you understand my point.

It is what some would describe as Mahama scoring an own goal. And when you are very, very, very desperate that is what happens.
That is why I believe the NDC party should elect somebody like Doe Adjaho to speak to issues in the interim whilst they brood over what to do whilst languishing in opposition after December, because every second, every minute, every hour, everyday Mahama opens his own, his losing percentage increases, and the fact that he consistently and obstinately persist on that course is scary.
Ghana needs effective and healthy opposition and when you have a major gov't going into opposition with such a heavy loss, it has the potential of completely collapsing the party and Ghana cannot allow that to happen in the interest of multiparty democracy, divergent opinion and consensus building needed for development. It is free advice. Doe Adjaho must begin to speak on the issues to guarantee the NDC party, a safe and less turbulent landing.

Clearly, President Mahama and the Ndc planned to use unworthy minds at the helm of the opposition party, to forment trouble. This plan was however, derailed midstream by the NPP.
