It is very hypocritical of Ablakwa to say what is credited to him. It is obvious that the NDC is behind the Africa Watch publication. Nana Addo's health story is the second after the publication on Rawlings that he's got Parkinson's disease. Africa Watch can only be digging its own grave as a discredited paper with such publications. It may sell sensationalism to its other markets but in Ghana I surely will not spend a dime on that paper, and I believe there are many like me who will do same.

After 35 years, Pastor George decides to retire. On his last day, he makes his usual rounds.
When he arrives at the first house, the whole family comes out, congratulates him, and sends him on his way with a tidy gift envelope.
At the second house, they present him with a box of fine cigars. The folks at the third house hand him a selection of terrific fishing lures.
At the next house, he is met at the door by a strikingly beautiful woman in a revealing negligee. She takes him by the hand and leads him up to the bedroom, where she blows his mind with the most passionate sex he has ever experienced.
When done, they go downstairs, where she fixes him a giant breakfast. As she pours him a cup of coffee, he notices a dollar bill sticking out from under the cup's bottom edge.
"All this is just too wonderful for words," he says, "but what's the dollar for?"
"Well," she says, "last night, I told my husband that today would be your last day and that I wanted to do something special for you. I asked him what to give you. He said, 'Screw him. Give him a dollar.' But breakfast was my idea."

REFRESHING MEMORIES AND NOTES ON THIS HISTORIC DAY FOR THE PEOPLE OF SCOTLAND TO MAKE DECISION THAT HISTORY ITSELF WILL REMEMBER AND HONOUR AND THAT SCOTLAND AND THE UNITED KINGDOM ARE INTEGRAL PART OF EACH OTHER AND THAT AS POSTULATED BY A NIGERIA WRITER AND POET CHINUA ACHEBE IN HIS BOOK "THINGS FALL APART THEN THE CENTER CANNOT HOLD", THEREFORE, THOSE OF US WHO BELIEVED IN THE NOBLE CONCEPT AND PRINCIPLE OF "UNITY IN DIVERSITY, MUTUAL RESPECT AND MUTUAL TRUST " STILL HOLD THE PERSPECTIVE VIEW POINT THAT IT WILL BE IN THE BEST NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL INTEREST THAT SCOTLAND REMAINS AN INTEGRAL PART OF UNITED KINGDOM.
THAT TO BUTTRESS THIS RELATED POINT IS THAT THE VOLTA REGION THAT I HAPPENED TO HAIL FROM IN 1956 HAD THE OPPORTUNITY AS THAT OF SCOTLAND UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE UNITED NATIONS TO MAKE A DEFINITIVE DECISION BY A REFERENDUM TO EITHER JOINED THE BRITISH COLONY KNOWN AS "GOLD COAST" OR OTHERWISE AND THE GOOD PEOPLE CHOSE TO REMAINED AND JOINED THE BRITISH COLONY "GOLD COAST".
THAT ON THE DAY OF INDEPENDENCE ON 6TH MARCH, 1957 THAT THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF GHANA WHO WAS ALSO THE FIRST PRIME MINISTER OF GHANA BROUGHT TOGETHER THE FOLLOWING:
(i) THE BRITISH COLONY--GOLD COAST
(ii) THE ASHANTI COLONY
(iii) THE NORTHERN TERRITORIES
(iv) THE TRANS VOLTA TOGOLAND
AND NAMED THE UNION AS GHANA AND THAT IS THE HISTORY AND THE BEGINNING OF THE COUNTRY GHANA AND ALSO DESCRIBED AS "THE BLACK STAR OF AFRICA".
IT IS THEREFORE MY RESPECTFUL SUBMISSION AND STRONGLY URGE SCOTLAND TO REMAIN AN INTEGRAL PART OF UNITED KINGDOM.
HOWEVER, THE DECISION IS PURELY THAT OF THE PEOPLE OF SCOTLAND AND THAT THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE AS THEY ARE NOW VOTING WILL MAKE THE WISE CHOICE, THERETO.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED.

5 things to remember about the UK and Scottish independence
On 18 September, voters in Scotland will be asked the question: "Should Scotland be an independent country?".
The UK Government is making a positive case for Scotland to stay in the UK - Scotland is stronger in the UK, and the UK is stronger with Scotland in it.
Get more information on GOV.UK.
With less than a month to go until the independence referendum, here are 5 things to remember about the UK, Scotland and independence.
Independence would mean Scotland leaving the UK permanently and starting again
The services and institutions we now share will stay part of the continuing UK, while the new Scotland will have to create much of its own infrastructure and negotiate its own terms and conditions with other countries.
The UK has a diverse and successful economy
The UK has a population of around 63 million people; Scotland’s population is around 5 million. This means far more people are paying tax across the UK, which is what funds public spending and ensures we provide for one another – whether that’s through the NHS or the State pension. Scotland benefits, as public spending is 10% higher per person in Scotland than across the UK as a whole. Being part of the UK means Scotland’s economy is better protected against the ups and downs of the global economy.
Being part of the UK is an important factor in that economic success
70% of Scottish exports, including 40% of all Scottish goods and services, go to the rest of the UK. Separation could see trade move less freely, affecting jobs and income.
UK has major international influence
As a major player in the UN Security Council, NATO and the EU, the UK carries influence through its international alliances and world class armed forces that protect us and generate jobs. The UK spends over £34 billion on defence each year, and 12,500 regular armed forces (8.8% of the UK total) will be based in Scotland by 2020.
Centuries of shared culture, media, sport and arts
The diversity of the UK enriches everything we do – from our academic research and technological innovation to our performing arts – and it means we can invest more in doing it. Scottish communities received one fifth of UK Government money spent improving broadband in rural areas. And the BBC, which receives just over £300 million in licence fees from Scotland each year, spends just under £4 billion on broadcasting in Scotland.
What you need to know
Four million people can vote in this referendum, but the result affects all 63 million people in the UK.
The referendum takes place on Thursday 18 September
The vote is open to Scottish voters over the age of 16

THAT TIME AND AGAIN, THAT MY PARENTS ADVISED TO US AS WE WERE GROWING ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF UNITY IN DIVERSITY AND THE PRINCIPLE OR NOTION THAT THERE IS STRENGTH IN UNITY WAS CLEARLY DEMONSTRATED BY "STICKS OF BROOM BOUNDED TOGETHER THAT NO MATTER THE MAGNITUDE OF FORCE OR STRENGTH APPLIED TO BREAK IT OR THEM WOULD PROVE FUTILE"..
HOWEVER, "IF YOU TAKE OR TOOK A STICK OUT OF THE BOUNDED STICKS OF BROOM THE LEAST FORCE OR STRENGTH APPLIED TO IT WOULD BREAK EASILY".
THAT THE ESSENCE AND THE "SINE QUA NON" OF THESE RELATED WISDOM FOUNDED PRINCIPLE IS HEREIN, AGAIN RE-ECHOED IN THE RELIGIOUS FAITH OF THE BIBLE IN PSALM 133 REALIZING AND ALSO RECOGNIZING THE FREEDOM OF RELIGION AS UNIVERSAL RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE AND HAVING THE UNDERSTANDING ALSO THAT EVERY FAITH IS BASED UPON THE DIVINE PRINCIPLE OF LOVE, UNITY,PROSPERITY, PEACE AND HEALTHY LONGEVITY OF LIFE/LIVE AND THAT THERE IS NO LAW AGAINST THESE NOBLE DIVINE CARDINAL PRINCIPLES, THERETO.
IT IS THEREFORE MY CONSIDERED HUMBLE SUBMISSION WITH THE KIND PERMISSION TO ALL WHOSE FAITH IS NOT BASED UPON THE BIBLE TO QUOTE THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION OF THE BIBLE OF PSALM 133 AS FOLLOWS:
"
A song of ascents. Of David.
1How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
2It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
down on the collar of his robe.
3It is as if the dew of Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.
IT IS THEREFORE MY RESPECTFUL, CANDID AND HUMBLE SUBMISSION THAT THERE IS NOTHING AT ALL FOR THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE TO LOSE IF THEY REMAINED AS INTEGRAL PART OF UNITED KINGDOM AS EVIDENTLY WELL ARGUED ABOVE BY H.E.RT.HON.PRIME MINISTER OF UNITED KINGDOM DAVID CAMERON AND ALSO THE CASE THAT I HAVE MADE THERETO, IN FULL SUPPORT OF H.E.RT.HON.PRIME MINISTER DAVID CAMERON FOR THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE TO VOTE OVER-WHELMINGLY ON 18 SEPTEMBER, 2014 TO REMAIN AS INTEGRAL PART OF UNITED KINGDOM SINCE THERE IS "STRENGTH IN UNITY AND UNITY IN DIVERSITY" ARE THE HALLMARKS OF PEACE, PROSPERITY, AND DEVELOPMENT IN ALL THE SPHERES OF HUMAN LIFE, THERETO.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED AND RESPECTFULLY SO URGED.
GOD BLESS UNITED KINGDOM, GHANA AND AMERICA.

The vote is open to Scottish voters over the age of 16

for such a serious allegation to be made against o moderator who happens to continuously berate people he perceives as corrupted, the mode of the denial is not convincing. dr acheampong gave dates and time. the moderator should come out and tell us where he was at the given time with witnesses. with the way he quickly calls press conferences and also jumping to radio stations we expect a robust denial from what has been given so far. hopefully he is doing his homework and will come out with a statement in due course.

I have no tears to shed for Martey. He brought it upon himself. He who lives in a glass house must not throw rocks, so the adage goes.
What has just come to my mind is the question of whether or not such gifts as Martey and Rawlings are alleged to have received are subject to Taxation. I would assume that these gifts add to the recipients income and must be assessed for personal tax payments to the State. If they did not pay Taxes on these gifts, they should be arraigned before Court for evading ?(Personal Income) Taxation.
When ordinary folks are hammered by Internal Revenue Service or Ghana Revenue Authority to the point of losing their businesses for failure to pay even smaller taxes than due on these gifts, such socially huge entities with massive personal resources shamelessly evade taxes after receiving those gifts.
What a country we live in! I checked the CV of Martey, and it shows how he has lived and studied in Scotland and the UK and USA, etc. He should ask himself if he could be walking free in any of those countries evading taxes on such Gifts.
Martey and his fellow boastful moral crusaders cry how the corrupt Officials are making Ghana lag behind the Developed Nations they have stayed in before, and yet refuse to pay their fair share of the financial burden to rebuild Ghana. That is not only hypocritical but criminal.
It is easier for the likes of Martey and the Rawlingses who receive huge gifts running into tens of thousands of Dollars, even Millions, to yell sermons and bellow at others to denounce the latter's corruption than for these others to keep their dirty noses clean.
Long Live Ghana!!!

George Larbi is not any position to vouch for the innocence of the out-going Moderator of the Presby Church. The fact that Larbi has worked with the man for two years and didn't see any corrupt behavior about him does not negate what the former PRO claimed about the $100,000 plus 'payola'.
If George Larbi was not present in the days of that incident, he should simply shut his mouth over that particular case, other than hoping that the Moderator did not do it.
An act of Corruption by an entity could only occur once. That might preclude any interactions with other folks who would never have the occasion to witness anything like that about the entities involved in it. That once-in-a-life-time act of corruption still counts in assessing the morality of an individual.
People who might have known Martey before and after the incident of unusual gift, bribery or payola (take your pick) to Martey by some Opposition Political Party could only testify to their interactions with him in their periods of encounter. And those who witnessed the incident reserve the right to claim what they saw he did.
The folks who did not see it can simply not dismiss it as lies. It is up to Martey to take the challenge of proving his innocence. And others must tread with caution to defend him. It takes only one moment of wrong action to sin.

I am a proud Presbyterian and I intend to remain so till death, but I must confers Prof. Martey has been an albatross on the neck of the church. Thank God he is going. Prof. Martey, when you took over the mantle of leadership your CARDINAL promise was to plant the Holy Spirit into the church. Now after six years ask yourself whether you have achieved that. I leave the answer to your conscience and your maker. At the end of life surely we shall account for what we have done.
