I am at a lost to understand why an offer from NDC for him to vie for the Chairmanship of the Peace Council did not appeal. Prof Martey has also enumerated several instances when he has spoken against the NPP when they were in power.

This is what elderly statesmen do. I believe the Peace Council would have offered him an opportunity to still be active in Politics and his voice heard. Old age comes with its problems and some very young believe in retirement and quiet life as an easy experience, it is not. The MIND never retires and starts taking you on rides you are not prepared for. He must continue exercising his proverbial mind to stay active. He refers to conferring with his friend The Holy Spirit. I believe in God he will find solace but must move out of the the proverbial "gun line".

Seasoned politicians are always in the "gun line" and unless he wishes to thus expose himself in his old age, then he is welcome TO THE GUN LINE. In this line, you speak against anyone, few will come against you with double venom. "Wuku ampem, apem beba". Presidents and presidential hopefuls come into this range closer to electioneering year.

Naturally our experiences in life prepares us for the life we wish to lead. If Prof Martey feels prepared then he must know the proverbial guns will be aiming directly at him. As Kwesi Pratt Jnr put it, whether his ex-pro officer is lying or he is lying - the guns have been drawn. He cannot respond to all the insults and so best to be active in an establishment similar but different from the Presbyterian Church where respect means respect - PERIOD.

In this medium, most believe in immunity as fake names are used but the insults are real.
