In the past when church organization want to put out anything against not only a government or against any anti social behavior, it was issued collectively, in the name of the church or the organization, it is not enough to just critics as ordinary politicians would so as to be SEEN and PERCEIVED as been bias. Are the members of the churches made up of only one political party? It is for the same reason chiefs are not allowed to get involved in party politics, are all citizens of a particular town or village made up of one political party members? IT is you who want these Pastors and chiefs to do your bidding, and some foolishly do so and disgrace themselves. The game of politics and Churches are very different. You don't have what it takes to see which way the country is heading, stop feeling big! I must commend you though for using your proper name, All the best.

If religious leaders remain tight-lipped about national canker, will that help? If some pastors courageously criticise wrong leadership constructively, will that not help? If you think that politics is for immoral people, then you are erring. Do you know that politics dates back in the Bible era? How nice it will be if God-fearing people enter into politics and not desert this country into the hands of corrupt individuals. I am solidly behind any clergy who criticises leaders coconstructively, and I request all religious leaders to courageously do same, so as to put the well-being of Ghana in check.

The work of Rev. Asante's Peace Council is very political. In 2012 after the elections, Rev. Asante stated the EC couldn't wait longer than they did to declare the presidential results when NPP impressed on EC to wait for a while to investigate complaints. Rev. Asante's call to the clergy to distance themselves from politics is unfair, whilst he is deeply involved in politics. Our Leaders have to talk for the down trodden and keeping mute means shirking their divine responsibility.

It's a pity Methodist could choose such an agent of Satan as their Bishop. Samuel and others in the Bible rebuked kings and leaders who did the wrong thing and those like Rev. Asante who followed their stomachs and twisted the words of the Lord were left to be consumed and that is exactly what will happen to this man. This Rev. Asante was able to defend a wicked government to please them and gave out a trust worthy Reverend who decided not fall prey to the vampires in government to be consumed by these evil men. Rev.Prof. Asante God will never forgive you, God will answer to the suffering and crying of Ghanaians under your government. But we should pity him because he has been run over by the Ndc. I am certain, he has been so well motivated with cash and other goodies over time, he will stoop very low to do the bidding of his paymasters. Do not forget, Prof. Asante is an Ndc induced peace ambassador. He has been preaching peace since the last elections, stolen under his very eyes. In Prof. Asante's bible, truth and fairness are not written in there. He only sees peace. Instead of railing against Prof. Asante, we should have pity on him. He has been reduced to the level of a party foot soldier, he will do the bidding of his paymasters, without thinking about his own worth as a human being.

1) Getting the political parties to agree to non violence.
2) Cajoling parties to resort to the courts to address issues instead of engaging in violence on the streets.
3) Preaching a message of peace and cordiality.
Instead of holding your political parties to account on the issues, you choose to lambast a well meaning body that strives to create a peaceful atmosphere. The ignorance is real... SMH.

Your statements are not one of a Rev. Minister but that of a politican. You are dividing the church by your statements. The Presbyterian Church and the Christian Council supports Rev Martey noting that you are a methodist priest. Let us strive for church unity. Rev Martey does not hold any party card so how can you say he is doing politics and you are not. If you feel Rev Martey is not behaving well there are avenues that you cam employ to bring him to order. As a Christian you are not to judge any person otherwise you shall also be judged. Presbyterian Church has acted very wishly otherwisely......
