Close some down, so that you cam pay 'allawee'. Afterall most of those who are students now wouldn't have been there with stiff competition if schools are few. It will bring sanity. On the other hand government should restreict in=take so the few admiited students will get fat allowances. We are not talking of building new hospitals to get jobs for trained nurses, but crying for allowances, Government MUST rethink some policies and stop unnecessary expansion of these schools. We don't need them yet.

Do you keep your children in your house even when they are grown to get married and move out or let them out? The teacher trainee allowance has successfully completed its usefulness at this age. If the allowances are reintroduced as promised by the NPP if they come to power, the number of students that would be admitted to the Colleges of Education would come down and when that happens very few would gain admission to the Colleges of Education because government would obviously not get enough money to pay the allowances to students. But why should students of Colleges of Education be paid allowances because when they graduate they would become teachers yet students of the University of Education, Winneba who are also being trained as teachers, do not receive any but students' loan?
