Right,it means all the presidential candidates of all the mushroom parties will lose all their money to the EC, it is only NDC and NPP that may get their money back but all those useless parties will not get a dime back, it should be a lesson for us a country to get serious,we can't allow anybody to just get up and form a party and be disturbing us.
Even if the EC wants to increase it to the level of the NPP they should do so, politics is not cheap, let us get rid of those noisy useless parties through any means.

These monies are not refundable under any circumstances but ec own is refundable in some cases. I see it as hypocritical for ndc and npp to complain. These are the things that breed corruption in society. Charging candidates that huge money to use it for campaign, what do u think if they get power? Stealing to get their money back

The fact that political parties collected similar amounts from their aspirants doesn't necessarily mean they have to pay same to the EC. The opposition parties conduct their economic affairs mainly from internally generated funds, including levies collected from their own aspirants. The NDC, as the party in government has 'ways and means' of generating funds from 'other sources'. In any case, the EC is totally funded from national coffers through the national budget allocation. What else do they collect these monies from political parties for? I believe the constitution/regulation needs amending. It doesn't make sense to me. Aseidu Nketia can defend it because his party, the NDC, is part and parcel of the EC.
