Political parties should not criticise or damn the Sitting President, the government officials, Parliamentarians and members of Council of State. Insults can never solve any problems but only dialogue can. Political parties and their leaders should provide advice to President and his government, and not to continously critise and insult them. An Acting Principal, Mr. R. A. Ajene, was appointed from 1st February 1999 to establish Bolgatanga Polytechnic. At that time, no single structure existed for the institution except a bungalow allocated to him. A task force that was set up to assist locate a suitable site for the Polytechnic encountered initial difficulties but finally settled on the former Meat Marketing Board offices in July 2001. These offices were subsequently renovated massively by the GETFund as a nucleus of the Polytechnic. Later in 2002, more land was acquired at Sumbrungu on the Bolgatanga – Navrongo road to construct a permanent campus for the Bolgatanga Polytechnic. This is where the Polytechnic stands now with modern structures befitting tertiary institution
Facts

Bolgatanga Polytechnic is one of the youngest Polytechnics in Ghana. It was established in July 2003 without a permanent structure but resorted to the use of an abandoned structure belonging to the former Meat Marketing Board. The Polytechnic began with five employees and the first Ag. Principal. The Polytechnic has acquired a permanent site at Sumbrungu near Bolgatanga and put up modern structures befitting the status of a tertiary institution with the assistance of Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund). The staff population has progressively increased to two hundred and twenty (220). The Polytechnic currently runs ten (10) tertiary programmes (Accountancy, Marketing, Procurement and Logistic Management, Secretaryship and Management Studies, Agric Engineering, Statistics, Civil Engineering, Ecological Agriculture, Hotel Catering and Institutional Management, and Industrial Art) leading to the award of Higher National Diploma (HND) and four non-tertiary programmes (DBS Accountancy, DBS Marketing, DBS Secretaryship and Management Studies and DBS Procurement and Logistics Management) for the award of Diploma in Business Studies (DBS). Plans are also far advanced to introduce new HND programmes into the Polytechnic.

When Rawlings started UDS there was An Agricole college but built a complete university with that infrastructure. So if Kuffour came to expand the polytechnic he cannot claim they built the polytechnic. He should say they came to expand it and he will be right and true.

One fault with the NPP is that they never apologize for their mistakes but rather justify it. Only fools don't admit when they are wrong. If you not admit your wrongs you do not get better.

And as for the inflation of costs of projects even the NDC knows that is your hobby. After all that is where you get money to steal and enrich yourselves. Some of you stole money even as mere student leaders. So stealing is in your blood. Who does not know why all you point to as achievements is in construction of projects? That is where you can offer contracts to your cronies, inflate costs and take kick backs. And most of the projects are shoddy work undertaken by party boys and girls with no experience in those projects. Killing Ghana softly but insulting every one when we complain. You are not GOD please.
