Notwithstanding Bawumia's display of apparent stage fright then, Amissah-Arthur was a poor sight to behold, especially when discussing the economy. Whatever his credentials, Amissah-Arthur will look embarrassing debating a now confident Bawumia. I suspect that's the reason NDC has decided not to do presidential debates this time, because Mahama can confidently hold his own against Nana Addo, whose oratorical powers appear to have waned with age.

  I knew the vice president when he was vice Commissioner of Ministry of Finance. A quiet and seasoned politician who has run through the ranks in life and in Ghanaian political arena.
  As mentioned by Dr. Arthur K, being a lecturer, Commissioner, Governor of Bank of Ghana (not vice Governor) and a vice President of the Republic of Ghana cannot in no way be compared to Dr. Bawumiah who was a vice Governor who could not even deliver the northern region to make Nana Addo become president. Choosing Bawumiah as Nana's running mate has been part of his failure to be president. (Aliu Mahama did for Kuffour, John Mahama for President Mills and Ammissah Arthur for John Mahama)
  I agree with Dr Arthur - K on this.

  Amissah-Arthur might be good theoretically but is short on delivering outside of the classroom. No matter where you put him he won't shine. On the other hand a dull student in his class could be a doer outside of the class and perform far better than his teacher. That is what Amissah-Arthur and Bawumia have turned out to be, teacher and student. Amissah-Arthur has been around for some time now but the economy is still in tatters, which will lead me to conclude that he is a monumental failure. Let's give Bawumia the chance to see what he can also do, as at the moment it seems all he gives NDC are sleepless nights!

  Politics the world over is a game of interests. Under the guise of democracy, vested interests mount the the waves of various media to promise the skies and end up woefully under-delivering. The politicians who in most cases are egomaniacs try to pull the wool over the eyes of the gullible electorate , by promising them that they will lead them to a developed and better condition, only for this to happen only in the pockets of the ruling class. Once again people like Bawumia will like us believe that just because he is good at pointing out the foibles and failures of the current group of the ruling class means that he earn the right to ride on a wave that seeks to fundamentally change soceity for the better. Nothing could be further from the truth than this position of
  "holier than thou". For in the end what ends up happening is a revolving door of election cycles in which one thing that is constant is the changing of one looting group for another.If the mark of developmental change was the peddling of theoretical econometric and financial positions emanating from the gift of the garb, then some of us developing nations would have chalked bigger successes than the developed world. Development is about using the best practices to create viable institutions that are robust and function well.

  under k4 government Ghanas economy was indicatively wrong over rated as midle income-. while at that time the country was little bit less than lower income economy.
  If it is not because of political gains, ghanaians should clap for this administration for able to sustain the economy to this level after all the donors, and development partners cut their aides to ghana.
  
  for me where this government had been insensitive is the way the handle fuel and electricity issues in this country.

I learned that the best economist in the NDC is Fiifi Kwetey - the guy who connived with Woyome, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Barton Oduro, Tony Lithur etc to loot state coffers through dubious judgment debts. Fiifi Kwetey also collapsed the agriculture ministry when he was posted as the agriculture minister.
