Voters currently agree they are in economic hell because they cannot afford the bare necessities of life.
They think cost of living was more affordable under NPP than under the current NDC regime.
Therefore, to address the voters' concern, economists must put their "GDP hat" aside for back to school days; and wear their "cost of living hat" or "cost of average food basket hat".
This way voters can sense and feel who is telling the truth.
Unless proven otherwise, most voters appear to agree that life was more affordable under NPP regime compared to the current NDC regime. Full-stop!

Analysis provided by the ministry provided that indeed GDP declined from 8.4% in 2008 ( assuming without accepting the figure they quoted) to 4.0% in 2016. And one could observe that there has been persistent decline of GDP since 2011 to date even with oil revenues. From the year 2000 to 2008 when NPP exited office, one could see that the country registered a growth persistently per the statistics provided by the Road Ministry. So with this i m fully convinced the NDC government has sent the nation backwards as highlighted by Dr. Bawumiah
The president should now understand why the NPP always referred to them as incompetent. TIBONKOSOFO NDC.

If you want to really compare growth rate under NPP to NDC you don't pick the highest of NPP (8.7) to the lowest of NDC (3.9). You have to compare your highest to the NDC which is 8.7 under the NPP in 2008 to 15.0 under the NDC in 2011. It is important note that the average growth rate is what is most important over the period these two parties have been in power.
