Instead of thinking about cutting down the number of off-days in the year, this silly goat Irbard is thinking of increasing religious holidays. The benefit? More poverty in Ghana. The simple solution I would give to revolutionize work ethics is for Ghanaians to be PAID BY THE HOUR, instead of the fixed monthly salaries that are dished out, irrespective of how many hours a month one works. If the gov't and private enterprises institute this Hourly Pay, just watch to see how many people will be interested in taking holidays and useless days off work. After that, let's give this Eid festival a week of celebration as holiday, and see how many people will be interested in staying at home for more than a day. Same goes for Christian holidays too, and all the various lazy days we have put in calendars as "national holidays". At the end of the day, we will see GHANA'S GDP grow by leaps and bounds. Then if you want to take a whole week to celebrate Eid, just go ahead. Meanwhile those who don't celebrate Eid or wish to celebrate one week at home will have the option to come to work and clock in and out. Our pay slips will then justify our holidays and other days off.
