What they are interested in is prestigious signature projects for the enjoyment of few ruling elites, regardless of whether the inflated projects are priorities and value for money or not. I wonder how they would account for the $40 billion borrowed so far to land our country in this HIPIC and bankruptcy. Did the insensitive NDC government think, despite the massive corruption and incompetence, they can borrow recklessly and spend their way foolishly into another mandate in 2016, while the nation is over burdened with HIPC and workers wallowing in hunger?

This is what gives the NDC the right to denigrate or belittle the people of Volta and also make other regions particularly npp strongholds resentful of Volta region.

I have never been proud of that name and always tell friends privately, I got it from the beginning and I have been wondering why NDC Will now be saying that publicly with the president now added IMF, NPP fooled all of us into that name which making some of you to now be saying NDC gave the region that name,NDC did not give the region that name,NPP did.
The question, is why we don't call Ashanti region World bank when they always vote NPP,why we don't call Upper East and Upper West world bank when they always vote NDC?
To Dusty, I don't know why you refer to him as the so called Togbe Afede but I believe he said that,this is coming from GNA, a state institution,not from Daily Guide or Statesman.
He said that because he might have now be feeling his people are being taken for granted.
We just read that the Ho airport will be ready by November with inaugural flight because the runway will be completed but the 150 seating capacity lounge will not be ready up until next year.
You live in Germany, if I'm right, do you know any airport that ever been opened when there is no building,with just a runway,how on earth can you call that airport,who in his right mind in this era will construct an airport with for just 150 people,are we building the airport for the future in mind or just something to show we have airport?
These are some of the reasons why we are hearing such things,nobody inaugurates uncompleted project in any part of the world I know.

Ghana as a country can only move forward if you residents start voting on political party's manifestos. When a party comes to power with the promise of improving your life and it doesn't, you simply vote them out! That way the ordinary citizen will not be taken for granted.

My greatest problem as a Ghanaian has to do with how Mahama's insatiable and insane appetite for corruption and thievery with some willing elements in the NDC party from the Volta region, can impact Voltarians negatively within the context of what Dzifa Aku Attivor said, over the long term.
Anytime I think about it, I get very, very disturbed and it worries me. It worries me deeply that somebody would say something like that. It continues to gnaw at me anytime I think about it, that something she has done which bothers on financial malfeasance is a representation of the people of the Volta region and the identity of Voltarians, so it must be protected with dignity.
Did she think about the long term impact of such a statement in our increasingly entrenched tribal idiosyncratic tendencies that have been given a shot in the arm because of Mahama's divisive politics for personal gain? Why will somebody say that because of politics?
The ramifications of that statement and the socioeconomic impact will hurt for a very long time to come and it is the most unfortunate.
Just because of a corrupt President, a whole ethnic group of very prominent and accomplished individuals in all spheres of life, whose names are captured in our history and our present, and would be in our future, can be thrown under the bus by such a statement, when about 99.99%, a very huge majority of them are not like that is sickening to say the least.
This is not who Voltarians are and an individual plagued by his own "demons" should not be allowed to push a whole ethnic group into such a corner by his reckless actions willy-nilly with careless disregard for our collective humanity and values as good people, bonded together with by a common destiny.
In this election, these factors are all on the table and Ghana must rise up for our common good. It is the right and proper thing to do for the future of our children and those yet unborn.

He puts to shame the stereotypical perception that ewes only engage in paid employment and is an entrepreneur at the highest level owning several businesses including African World airlines, thereby being a major employer as opposed to an employee.
If indeed there is a King Solomon among our traditional leaders in this country it is Togbe Afede.
I am a Fante but have no hesitation in holding him in the highest esteem.

The EWes have always played this toxic tribal card for a long time but the trouble is the EWES have never won the tribal card game ; the whole thing started when Gen Kotoka was overthrew Kwame Nkrumah ans was later on killed by Lt Arthur ; the bare truth is what did Gen Kotoka do for the Volta region -NOTHING ; then this bastard of a son JJ Rawlings who fulled the EWES by making them think that he was one of them and like a flock of sheeps followed JJ Rawlings believing bitter guy who never knew his for guidance will assist theng but in actual fact NEVER TRUSTED the EWES although the EWEs Loved him ; what these EWES did not realise was that the man was not interested in EWES ; his wife was an Ashante lady and very aggressive and would read JJ Rawlings the riot act if JJ Rawlings attempted to lean to the EWE clan ; Nana Konadu made sure his children Ashnati first not EWES ; JJ Rawlings was weak when it came to his wife and children ; he could not control Nana Konadu so JJRawlings attention was never focused on Voltarians ; all JJ Rawling did was to bring in toxic EWES like Awoonor William ; the Tsikata brothers to help run the Nation ; when JJ Rawlings was elected on the basis that the Volta region would vote for any dag provided he was an EWe ; JJ Rawlings was a any 'DOG' from the VOlta region so the Volta region became an assured Voting Bank for the NDC ; the question is what did JJ Rawlings do for any economic development in the VOlta region -NOTHING ; today the EWEs are regreting bitterly because the fulls have come to realise that all along the NDC party was fulling or toying with their 'balls' ; most ewes were promoted in the Army ; Civil Service ; became businessmen and politician with economic power but did they do anything to develop the Volta region -NO !!!!!!!!!; they rather built houses and set up businesses in Accra or Teman or TA'Di ; thhen they did the same thing with Atta Mills and voted for the NDC again but Atta Mills fulled them by using Koku Anyidoho as an EWE right hand man ; did Atta MIlldo anything for the VOLTA region -NO WAY ; the man was 'iced' by Jon Mahama because there was investigation about this aircraft deal ; JOn Mahama saw the opportunity hired some people to murder Atta Mills ; the Jon Mahama took over but still these fullish EWE people did not read between the lines that JOn Mahama hated EWE people people he had serious problems with Kofi Anyidoho ; Jon Mahama virtualluy ignored the nOrth and the Volta region and rather developed the Western Region ; today we all can see what is happening in the VOlta region ; very high unemployment ; no development projects except to say JOn Mahama claims he has build development projects for the area in the Volta but compare the development proijects in the Western region to the Volta region and you come to you own conclusion ; the truth is that Jon Mahama hates Voltarians but will never show it for fear of losong the Volta region as Voting Bank for the NDC ; We are in the election year again so the stakes are high the question will these EWE people learn some sense that tribalistic politics does not work in their favour because the evidence from Gen.Kotoka to Jon Mahama is clear the NDC is not for you and the NPP is not for you because Voltarians hate Ashantes and note caution Togbe Afedi is not a KING ; the man is a CHief ; EWES should WAKE UP !!!!!!!!

Well spoken, Togbe Afede. This NDC president, John Dramani Mahama,in the last four years behaved as if he was voted to be president to serve the interest of the NDC supporters in the country. His utterances at various platforms sought to marginalise those who are at the otherside of the political divide.
Just listen to the NDC communication minister and his team of communicators, they never talk about anything that would reconcile Ghanaians as one people with common destiny. All they talk about is demonising Nana Addo on every platform, and showering praises on John Mahama, and touting him for developmental projects, as if it is the developmental projects that put food oon the table for the ordinary Ghanaians.
If John Mahama has done more roads than any president, how come that he travels by Air during his campaign tours in the country? Nana Addo has never traveled by Air to any part of the country , and therefore in a better position to appreciate the plight of those communities facing deplorable road conditions in the country.
John Mahama is only going round distributing V8 vehicles to Chiefs and bribing them with cash and soliciting their votes, forgetting that the Chiefs cannot force anybody to vote against his will. Money stolen from the state are being giving to people along the length and breath of the country to vote for the NDC.
The NDC is not thinking about the welfare of the people, but rather thinking about how they can use money to influence people to vote for them, so that when they win they can perpetuate their stealing spree for another four years. Their norctunal visits to Chiefs and opinion leaders is legendary, and had been part of their strategy to use money to influence people to vote for them. Ghanaians are no fools. They are advised to collect the monies and vote them out.
Togbe Afede was economical with words when he hinted that chiefs are only visited during campaign periods.That is the time monies are distributed to chiefs to accept part of their booty during their four year reign, and to solicit for more years to steal from state coffers.
This remarks from Togbe Afede is the most intelligent, honest and truthful exposition ever heard from any Chief in the country. And I salute him for his honesty and frankness in exposing the politicians to their shameless night visits to Chiefs in the country.
The NDC must be ashamed of this dirty campaign strategy.
