Carcinoma may start as a tiny mole, a permanent pimple or a polyp on any part of the body, e.g. face, back or arm. I first noticed one on the left side of his face some years back but the rate of growth may indicate malignancy. A carcinoma may be benign and even when cancerous, can be localized. A melanoma on the other hand, is very dangerous when early treatment is not sought. This is because the cancer cells travel to attack other parts of the body (metastasis ). Mahama's facial polyp has really grown bigger and needs to be tested. A number of US Presidents had successful surgical removal of these skin cancer tumours very early, including Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Clinton.
