  The best thing to do is for the Minister to have a proper and thorough review of aAL the sports federatins and evaluate what is necessary which means the Federation Preisdents have to be honest, transparent and open and actually submit a proper report. What they've done in the last 4 years and what they plan to do in the next four years in the best case scenario. Then the ministry should go through it all and discuss each one with the federation presidents although it would be useful to call in an outside agency who is a professional body and unbiased to evaluate the reports and give an indication of whether it's truthful and what real results could be forthcoing. In other words, th emiister can't just be beseiged all the time by hungry wolves at his door. Clearly there are historical precedents with some sports that have done well in Ghana like boxing but the times, conditions were different. Oftentimes in sports it's about timing, talent and particular individuals who have knowledge, expertise and a certain magic that can bring things to fruition. It's like being a gardener. Not everyone is a good gardener. So boxing in ghana in its heyday, had certainindividuals in place who connected with other individuals and then nurtured the local talent and hey presto magic happened.. Money and buildings don't make champions,. people creativity and talent make champions. And timing. timing is everything but you can only get the timing right if you know what you're doing, plan it and set everything up properly to take advantage of that single moment when you can take advantage of an opportunity. It's not luck, it's not magic. It's just thoughtful work and making your own luck.

  Lack of vision, incompetency, ulterior motives, corruption and pathetically placing the wrong leaders in charge of affairs where they have no business being, all in the name of 'whom you know' Its takes a few minutes for any educated person to punch holes in almost every undertaking and system we have. God help Ghana!

  WHAT WE ALL HAVE TO REALIZE IS THAT, THERE IS NO BOTTOMLESS PIT OF FUNDS FOR ANY MINISTRY. WELL, NOT AFTER ALL THE CORRUPTION ANYWAY. YOU DON'T SPEND WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE. WHY DON'T SOME OF THESE ASSOCIATIONS START GENERATING FUNDS THEMSELVES. EVERY ORGANIZATION WAITS FOR A CHARITY HAND OUT FROM THE GOV'T. EVEN UNCLE SAM DOESN'T GIVE OUT MONEY, FOR SOME THINGS, WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF CONGRESS AND THAT DEPENDS ON THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS

  Sports ministry is a laughing joke. Wat is the aimof the ministry? What are its goals, mission and vision? None...all they do is seek govt.funding from ministry of finance and when they are fortunate to get it. They take their share. Let the respective sporting administrative bodies like goc, gfa, gaa, gba, etc develop themselves and if they need money. They should go directly to the finance minister or parliament not present their budgets....

  Th e mininstry of Sport && Youth has a role to play. You can't have hundreds of individuals going t the Ministry of finance one by one. It would be chaotic. However in order for the mInistry of Sport &^ Youth to really be effective in its role, it has to first define what that role is, then have back bone and muscle to demand proper plans from each fredetaions every year and a revew every six months. Right now the ministry has been plagued by a revolvoing door of ministers so there has been no continuity. If the government takes the youth seriously, it will start to really pay attention to what is going on in this department. This minister seems to be more committed and interested. He has done more to shake up the GFA than anyone before and that's saying somethng because the football people are very powerful and quite a tough crowd. So this minister seems to be a good one for the department. Now he needs to go one step further. callall the federation president to task. Demand a full report from them. If they can't do that then they shoud not be president so f a federation. Halft the time,t he problem is that a president of a fedeation doesn't even have basic admin or management skills. so the minister should root them out. Review what is going on. put a system and plan in place and then let the federations get on with it. If they don't like it they should step aside or go and fund themselves.
