  If Ghana govt can't give them allowances they shd not be on bond period.They are given those pittance allowances just to help them serve the 3yr bond to keep them in the classroom.

  There was a time as all university students paid no fees and even got substancial allowances paid to them.- There was a lot of noise as gov. decided to cut off the payments. All over the world you are only paid if you actually work during your training. If you actually work ,ask for real pay not allowances.

  As a tertiary student , the law says you must go for student loan to support your education if need be. It is wrong for some tertiary students to go student loans while others are to be given allowance.

  MEDICAL STUDENTS AND ALL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WILL ALL TAKE TRAINEE ALLOWANCES IF NURSES AND TEACHER TRAINEES ARE GIVEN ALLOWANCES.

  Ghana has never been a rich country and must be very careful with public expenditure.The loan and grant system for University students could be used for trainees in teching and nursing as well.Besides,that will motivate them to take their studies serious.On the other hand,these nurses and teachers quickly run away from the country to search for greener pasture somewhere after qualification.Only very few remain here to work so why should govt continue paying allowances?Thank you.

You do not go around preaching Ghana is broke and then --just for campaigning-- promise to restore such allowances. Why don`t you promise to restore allowances for University students ? Yes ,this was cut off some years ago, we had no money for that. It is hard for the trainees, but as NPP keeps saying, We are broke.

  mr kofi here is not America.Talking of all students taking allowance is not true becos u look at ur background b4 selecting de school.Hence,if u decide 2 go training college u must be given de allowance

  Hmmm I wonder why some people try to be ignorant about politics in Ghana and the institutions as well, universities are different from college's but I still not understand why some people still comparing those institutions.what makes the college's to be called tertiary?when they still wear uniforms n sit for classes like primary schools, imaging all the college's pay fees on semester base's while universities are on yearly base's and besides this there's NO students loan for nurse's in particular why? and the fees is always high hw can the poor students pay their fees n buy books when their parents can't even meet their 3 daily square meal so please if u hv nothing to support nurses better shut ur bucal cavity n let those who can advocate for them to do so thank you.
