The lady had all the time to raise alarm but refused. He also reported of fire outbreak when someone was dying. She premeditated the crime so she deserves some punishment. People like this are manipulative and dangerous.

Charge one of them or say not enough evidence to prosecute but to have a case where both victims are also the defendants is to say the least unique.

It will be even better to prosecute one first and if found not guilty consider prosecuting the other one based on the court findings but to do it this way is stupid.
Once the police are saying there's enough evidence to prosecute the man they are invariably saying the woman was acting in self defence which the law entitles her to do.
All this could be a ploy to make this a foolish case
