The Ghana National Association of Teachers has described as unfortunate, President John Dramani Mahama’s unilateral decision not to restore the scrapped allowances for trainee teachers.

The scrap of the allowances in 2014 triggered protests by many people, especially the teacher trainees but President Mahama has maintained he will not succumb to pressure, noting he prefers to lose the elections than to restore the allowance.

Government claimed the payment of the allowance was having “huge cost implication for the national budget” and also caused it to scale down the number of students intake through the imposition of what we call the quota system.

Addressing students of the Cape Coast University last week, President Mahama claimed the withdrawal of the allowance has increased enrollment at the various colleges of education nationwide.

But the General Secretary of GNA, David Ofori Acheampong, says the president could have allowed for broader consultations before making the statement.

He said one of the reasons given for the withdrawal of the allowance was that facilities were going to be expanded to take more trainee teachers but noted that has not been done.

“The reason they gave was that they wanted to expand the facilities and as I speak to you now no facility has been expanded in any College of Education. Even as I speak to you today, there is a problem with the final years who are supposed to come out next year,” Mr Acheampong said.

Speaking to TV3’s Daniel Opoku, he denied claims by President Mahama that enrollment has increased since the cancellation of the training allowances.

If you want to know those behind the killing of the Afro Americans in Akosombo then read this. According to the story" The two who are leaders of the African American community in Akwamu were recently accused by the Chieftaincy Minister, Dr. Seidu Danaa, of illegally acting as chiefs."
"Private legal practitioner, Samson Lardy Anyenini late last year brought a suit on behalf of the leaders and against the Chieftaincy Minister whom they alleged had supported one Osofo to mistreat them using national security.

The Osofo was named in the suit as claiming right to the symbolic stool and skin created by the national house of chiefs to reintegrate disaporians.

Samson says that suit was withdrawn earlier this year after the Attorney-General (A-G) called for an amicable settlement."
The question is if the government has declared the status of the Afro Americans as an illegality, why did the Attorney General beg that the issue should be withdrawn from court. The answer is simple. Withdraw the case, kill the Afro Americans and case die.
I promise, The blood of these Afro Americans shall not be in vain. I will fight till the end.

If i were this man i would have kept my silence forever because of my past record as a minister of state. Even when out of government he made some serious tribal comments that were exposed to Ghanaians and the world when he was talking to his own party members. Prior to his dismissal as a minister of sports it was rumoured that because he tried to outsmart his former boss over some millions of dollars he extorted and pocketed. Sometimes i get confused as to whether characters like him belong to the christian or moslem fraternity. They behave as if they don't die and that they are super human beings in Ghana. Do they go to toilets at all? They behave as if GOD created Ghana for them alone. I feel pity on such souls. Where are their late fathers and uncles who gave Kwame Nkrumah HELL until they booted him out of power on 24th February 1966? Did they live to see what their off springs today are doing to the present president of Ghana? Is that not a repetition of what they did to Kwame Nkrumah? Time will tell!
