How can a whole learned lecturer compare the sufferings of his fellow Ghanaians to loans and grants.

Just look at what they study at the universities. While Indians and Chinese go to universities to study Math, Science and Engineering, the blacks go to universities to study international relations and some useless subjects which I will not name, so when they become president all they know how to do is to go about borrowing money at astronomical interest rates, thus putting the country at financial risk.

Protesters tried shouting down a crowd of hundreds who turned out in a California park on Sunday to witness the unveiling of a bronze Mahatma Gandhi statue, FOX40 reported.

A few demonstrators used megaphones to shout that Gandhi was a “racist” as the “Gandhi Statue of Peace” was unveiled on what would have been Gandhi’s 147th birthday, The Sacramento Bee reported.

Gandhi, largely viewed as a symbol of peaceful resistance, is seen as paving the way for leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. But some of the Davis protesters – many of whom were Sikh activists opposed to the Indian government – cast Gandhi in a far different light.

“They want you to believe, and they want Davis to believe, about this peaceful myth when Gandhi was really an agent for sexism, horrible bigotry,” Amar Shergill told FOX40. “And they just don’t want people in Davis to know about that. And we’re here to change that.”

One protester's sign read: “Gandhi was a child molester.”

Shergill said: “Today in India, minorities are being brutalized, raped murdered, assaulted and this statue attempts to obscure that truth.”

The statue was a gift from the Indian government and was installed and will be maintained through community donations, said Madhavi Sunder, who was on the committee that brought the statue to Davis.

Some of Gandhi’s more famous quotes are inscribed on the statue: “Be the change you want to see in the world”; “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind”; “There are many causes that I am prepared to die for but no cause that I am prepared to kill for.”

But the protesters focused on other aspects of Gandhi’s life, namely his treatment of South Africa’s blacks during his youth and his later practice of sleeping naked with his 18-year-old grandniece to test his vow of chastity.

“It’s like Bill Cosby, who was everybody’s hero – look at him now,” demonstrator Tej Maan told The Bee.

It irritating to hear Antwi Danso say such things. What kind of relation is he talking about? If it is a loan, it is not for free. What is it that we as Ghanaians will miss from India if we decide not to allow a statue of a racist to be in our premier University? Interestingly, he has accepted the fact that, Ghandi was indeed, a racist bigot, but his positive side outweighed his bIgotry towards Africans. Is there any small racism? I live in europe and know what it is like to recive a racist slang from such dirty beings. Even just this morning, I sat alone on a seat in a bus that is meant for three people, whiles they were standing. I wish am in ghana.That statue would have gone by now. Enough of this inferiority. It is on record that people of the Semitic race were part and parcel of the oppressive colonial system. The statute of the white man that stands at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital must go.
In 1966 the British bribed some members of the armed forces and police service of Ghana to overthrow Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The British ordered the military cum police junta to remove all the statute of Nkrumah from all public places and burn all his pictures and books.
The British, U.S. and their allies ordered parliament in 1970 to pass a law to outlaw the pictures and any feature of Nkrumah even if it is on a cloth.
I am well aware that Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso was one of those who in his youth fought the NLC and Progress Party over the banning of the effigies of Nkrumah and together with others held demonstrations to force the PP to reverse that law, however I agree with those who said Ghandi must fall and together with the man at Korle-Bu.

In Russia in San Petersburg her former capital stands the statute of Alexander Sergievich Puskin a Negro of the second generation, the greatest Russian writer, poet, revolutionary. His grandfather Ossipov Abramovich Gannibal was the first negro third in command of the Imperial Army and a Negro governor of one of the regions in Imperial Russia. Ossipov was a native of Northern Cameroon who was sold into slavery to the King of Turkey who in turn gave him as a gift to Peter the Great, the King of Russia. Russia erected the statue of this Negro of the second generation years before the Great October Socialist Revolution in 1917.

A well packaged Samsung or Lebanese, Nigerian or other nationals or company cellphones support office would send out adverts like this caption, and young people would rush in applications in millions. But some, in fact many in that group have the capacity to learn and set up a similar outlet, making multiples of that same amount they expect to be paid! Why?

1. There, the company would give him an identity tag for his role that may not be tagged "phone repairer". So he feels 'cool' working there even for 50k.
2. He conditions his expectations to a guaranteed price tag at the end of the month.
3. I don't just know ...really
