This is what all these characters must respond to, not the silliness that toddlers will not even engage in. VAT was introduced when other forms of taxes at lower rates could have been the alternative, Kumepreko was a protest march peacefully organised but was shamefully and cruelly countered illegally by The NDC Who shot killed and maimed some of the demonstrators they turn round to blame the NPP who were the demonstrators even when the Known attackers have been identified with their vehicles. The NDC withdraws the VAT Bill and reintroduces at a reduced percentage as was being advocated by the NPP. The adjustment the Npp made to the VAT rate was bcos NDC left us a HIPIC economy and the parameters were different now we have an oil and a lower middle income economy when the parameters are most favourable to support Alan Cashs promise

Remember the 17% you are talking about is not for VAT only. He only said VAT and not NHIS levy inclusive. Check it for clarification before you make any judgment else you may not be making your intended sense.

When VAT was first introduced, the NPP organized a demonstration against it and many lives were lost. Against this backdrop, it was anticipated that when NPP took over power in 2000 of which Alan and Nana were instrumental, the Vat will be buried for good. But as destiny will have it, this did not happen. Ghanaians were surprised about this double standard but said okay at least they lied to us. Then, to add insults to injury, they raised the VAT rate to 15% from 12.5%! My question now is, why did you allow people to lose their lives if you knew the policy was good? And now, this time round again, you promise a reduction of the same policy, what do you take Ghanaians for? Oga, say something else, for you cannot even maintain the rate as it stands today but to increase it to worsen our situation should the unexpected happens.
