Blame Jerry Rawlings and his (P)NDC for politicizing the NUGS, starting from Kofi Totobi Kwakye, with promises of jobs, cars and houses. I can name all the student beneficiaries from this nonsense.

They became more radical during the 1979 revolution by J. J. Rawlings but it must be pointed out that they became a torn in the side of the same gov't when Rawlings returned into gov't by the side door in 1981 to foist himself unto all of us after handing over peacefully in 1979 for Dr. Hilla Limann's gov't to take over constitutionally.
