A simple clerical error should never be the basis for disqualifying a candidate.

A simple clerical error should never be the basis for disqualifying a candidate.
It should be based on the person not being fit and proper to hold the office as stipulated by the constitution.
If there are any weaknesses in the law the ec should point it out so that parliament can rectify it.
It is absurd that as things currently stand we can in theory have as many as a thousand presidential candidates on ballot . clearly that is not practical but the methods being used by the ec doesn't make sense. Take for instance ayariga claiming to have spent $4m so far. If that's true then it's clearly a waste.
The registration process needs to be changed to allow candidates to have their application reviewed and be given a chance to correct clerical errors to stop this wastage. Additional rules must be brought to streamline the process. Currently we have a form for presidential candidates as well as MPs.Maybe another set should be brought in to allow for independent candidates or parties with no mps in parliament. We all remember the crazy situation where npp nearly had 20 candidates for their primaries. If that was the national election illiterates or even educated folk will struggle to find the candidate of their choice.

Lack of responsabilitity and disregard for the Laws governing this particular case can be attributed to him. Thence he is unfit to Govern Ghana. so are all the disqualified candidates. They can try their luck next time.
