Today's request for disclosure on the 2007 redenomination is another demonstration of incompetence. Apart from the fact that the then Governor disclosed the cost as far back as 2007, if the President really wanted to find out the cost of the redenomination, he could simply have asked his VEEP who was Bank of Ghana Governor, especially when the President was Head of the Economic Management Team between 2009 and 2012. Such petty propaganda should be beneath someone of the stature of a President. It is clear he is very poorly briefed, but when a President decides to join the bandwagon of propaganda , he only ends up embarrassing himself. Moving on, can the President (with the same zeal) and his Economic Management Team respond to the 170 statements contained in my last lecture?

When the EC is pushed to the wall, that is when you hear moronic Mahama begging Ghanaians to allow the EC to perform its function. This useless decision taken by the EC to disqualify the 12 presidential candidates will surely precipitate legal and social crisis but unfortunately the EC and Mahama seem not to see this coming. This is because Mahama, as a history graduate, sees backward and cannot see beyond his nose. Never again should we allow a history graduate to rule Ghana since Laurant Gbagbo is also a history professor.

It is said religion and science must go together for the welfare of mankind and i say simple plain common sense , justice and science must always walk hand in hand. Not so long ago scientist using DNA analysis were able to prove the DNA of the Pharaohs of Egypt was identical to that of the sub Saharan people of Akan and also they practiced the culture and tradition of Matriarchy which plainly proves Akan are the true chosen people which we all already knew. The blue print for nation building as designed by God for every nation is in the Bible and recommends we dont mix with the philistines or other wicked people such as pepeni/ayigbe Sodom / Gomorrah least we suffer the fire and brimstone of retrogression , nor should we worship their golden calf of islam that can only bring bad-luck to our efforts of modernization and development. Seeing that they would loose their bread basket of free money they decided kill and brainwah the minds of our people with a FAKE revolution as the best way to hide a crime is to do it in the open . We have the law of the country hijacked by constitution written by minorities to ensure justice and freedom for the Akans can never be regained except by war. We have a govt which effectively denies the majority Akan true participation in the processes of a govt by the people and of the people since 70% of all appointees are pepeni northerners who hide behind their incompetence to ensure their true agenda of the devastation of the Akan economy. We have had Pharaohs, kings , paramount chiefs and all kinds system of state organizations through the millennia and now its time to get rid of all these useless Judas Iscariot traitor chiefs and their 30 pieces of V8 treachery that burden us and create a true modern state based on the positive experiences of progressive nations , so its now time for true democracy born in the blood of war as has been the case of all prosperous nations. Nobody can hide the true light and destiny of God's chosen people the Akan no matter the skinpain envy of the useless wicked idiots around and within us .We charge you to investigate the truth for yourselves and not be swayed by the noise , lies of the brainwashing propaganda as they only lead to doom and disgrace. The spawn of Satan following this ndc have secured the theft and think they will succeed in denying the will of God through the people in a peaceful ballot but we know they do not know God is with us and they will be booted out no matter what , we prepare not for elections but for the freedom fight of war. Their games of divide and rule by pitting the Ashantis/Twi speakers against the other Fanti speakers has failed and will never triumph again as we are now one , long live the republic of Akan. Yes the battle for freedom does not end with npp gaining power but rather the total freedom of all Akan people both here and in the ivory coast together with the return of our refugees from the diaspora. Redenomination cost $66.2 million
The Bank of Ghana spent a total of $66.2 million - about GH¢62.188 million (¢621.88 billion using current exchange rates) - on the redenomination exercise, the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Paul Acquah, has disclosed.

He said the figure represented a saving of $28 million, if compared with the $94.8 million spent in 2003 and 2006 to replace worn out notes and coins and top up the existing currency in circulation.

Answering questions from journalists at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, Dr Acquah said the expenditure covered the total cost of the re-denomination exercise, including the printing and minting of Ghana cedi notes and coins and the multimedia campaign, among others.

"I prefer to call it savings because we now have to spend less to annually top up or replace currency in circulation," Dr Acquah explained.

The press conference was organised by the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee, which is chaired by the Governor, to brief the media on current developments in the economy and the way forward.

The governor said the exercise, which slashed four zeros from the old currency, gave the country the opportunity to replace millions of notes and coins of the old currency with fewer notes and coins, which matched the value of the old ones.

He said while subsequent replacement and topping up of currency in circulation would cost less, the exercise had also made enough currency available to purchase cocoa beans during the next crop season.

At the end of October this year, the BoG had withdrawn 89 percent of the old currency in circulation, which the governor explained signaled that the end of the exercise was in sight.

Over 90 percent of both the ¢20,000 and ¢I0,000 notes had been retrieved, but the withdrawal of coins is much slower.

As of now, only 15.23 percent of the coins had been withdrawn. The reason is that it was more cumbersome to haul the much bulkier coins to change at the banks as compared to notes.

By the close of this year, the cedi will cease to be legal tender, but would continue to be exchanged for the Ghana Cedi at the banks.

Since the beginning of July this year, when the new Ghana Cedi was introduced, it has been circulating side-by-side the cedi to enable the public to understand and adjust to the Ghana Cedi.

On counterfeiting, the governor gave the assurance that the security apparatus was on guard to apprehend any unscrupulous individuals who perpetrate the crime, saying, "The security forces are aware of the money being spent and are determined to expose any such criminal activities.

On the economy, Dr Acquah said growth was robust and the economy was resilient to shocks such as the rising crude oil prices and interruptions in domestic power supply.
