Police culture and practices in Ghana and elsewhere in Africa need to change to reflect 21st century international policing standards. Unless someone's life is danger, or community's safety at risk or imminent risk, there is no point for a police officer to engage in a hot pursuit in apprehending someone suspected of a crime. In this sense, an environment has to be created in policing cycles to make it conducive for citizens suspected of contravening the law to be invited to police stations to speak to the police about any alleged wrongdoing. Not to speak ill of the deceased police officer, it was unprofessional and poor judgement on his part to get on to the accused's vehicle in the first place. Professionally, the officer should have taken the accused's vehicle's information and his driver's license number and most importantly, given him a window of opportunity for him to report at the local police station for further questioning relative to the alleged crime. These measures would certainly helped prevent the needless death of the officer.

It makes me sad to hear and see how our journalists, politicians, graduates, students etc. etc; I will say many Ghanaians who speak on public platforms or write in the media are losing grip of the English language. An example of such a mistake is title of this news item. 'Police officer dies after BEEN pushed from moving car' in stead of after 'BEING'. .
Our use of correct tenses and grammar has been deteriorating at an alarming rate. It would appear as if our schools have not been paying the required attention to the teaching of English anymore as it used to be in the past. I wonder if Oral English remains on the senior high school syllabus. Ghana is known in international circles as an English speaking country so we might as well speak and write it well.

I was driving once with my family and suddenly a policeman stopped me by coming onto the road. He opened the passenger van and sat in it and asked me to drive to the police station.
We asked him what I had done wrong but all he would say is you shouldn't have done what you did.
We kept asking him but he won't tell us what I had done wrong but insisted we went to the police station. It was just midday and I kind of thought he wanted lunch money.
But I wasn't going to give him any money. I told him we are going home and if he wants a free ride to our house he is welcomed. I drove about 10 minutes and he kept asking "are you not going to the police station"? and I said no.
I decided to stop briefly, to see what happens. He got out of the van and pretended he was writing down my registration number and he said "I have your registration number, you will see".
That was it. I don't think it is lawful for the police to get into vehicles, and they don't have the power to order drivers to drive their vehicles to the station either but this is Ghana.

Traditional Satanism is not simply an inversion, but a complete rejection of the images of a
0244908520particular culture, religion, or philosophy. From there a Satanist uses those images against the ethos itself, that was once his own conditioning. Persons who participate in traditional Satanic masses sometimes experience a king of 'sartori', a sudden enlightenment, to an increase in their own consciousness, and feeling stronger and satisfied because they had broken with the constraining opposites. In other words, at its highest level Satanism uncovers what the ethos of a particular community or society has covered up through images, dogma, words and ideas, returning the individual to the primal chaos out of which 'opposites' were created." ~ Magister Hagur, Temple of Atazoth Office

It is sad commentary on the affairs of the country that this hard-working police officer had to die a senseless death. This police office was doing his job with limited or no resources available to him because the country cannot provide vehicles to transport crime suspects. The officer was pushed to his death from the vehicle being driven by the suspect to the police station. If the police had used their own vehicle to transport the suspect, none of this would have happened.
