PROPHET BAWUMIA:--------- Mr. President, care to read? Today's request for disclosure on the 2007 redenomination is another demonstration of incompetence. Apart from the fact that the then Governor disclosed the cost as far back as 2007, if the President really wanted to find out the cost of the redenomination, he could simply have asked his VEEP who was Bank of Ghana Governor, especially when the President was Head of the Economic Management Team between 2009 and 2012. Such petty propaganda should be beneath someone of the stature of a President. It is clear he is very poorly briefed, but when a President decides to join the bandwagon of propaganda , he only ends up embarrassing himself. Moving on, can the President (with the same zeal) and his Economic Management Team respond to the 170 statements contained in my last lecture?

When this idiot is at the forefront of the establishment of the so called Technical Universities in Ghana, what should we expect? What does he know about education to lead such an important milestone in the country's march to real freedom and self dependence? Now he is calling it an international concept! International my foot!
The whole nation is behaving like a bunch of idiots being led by idiots. I pity the so called professors and educators who are allowing themselves to be toyed around by these babies with warped teeth. What groundwork did this current government do before coming out with this concept of turning our polytechnics into technical universities? These institutions still lack the basic tools fro training even apprentices. Rather than equipping them to do what they can do best, some foolish guy woke up one day and decided to carve a name for himself by announcing that the institutions should start awarding degrees and diplomas, whether or not they are capable to do so. And, this being Ghana, so shall it be - AMEN! We are doomed as a nation if we fail to wake up from our sleep and start thinking as normal human beings! This idea of turning our polytechnics into universities is too premature. Already the existing institutions are churning out thousands of graduates each year who have no jobs to turn to. Adding a few thousands more to that number is not going to win us any prizes: we are only helping to compound our problems and frustrations. Let us all sit back and think where we are going before we allow these cats and dogs to take us to a point of no return. Arise, fellow Ghanaians, and let us build a Ghana we all would be proud of even in our graves!!

It is the same kind of retrogressive talk that was made against the creation of the KNUST MEDICAL SCHOOL by some top academic gurus decades ago. However it has grown to become a premier medical school in West Africa. The upgrade of technical education with the introduction of the tech. universities is long overdue and must be persued without further procrastination. Besides how well equipped are are so called traditional universities and how good is the quality of their 'products'?
