Ghana's economy is basically raw material export oriented.We largely depend on the export of cocoa,gold and oil but we have no say in the world market.Anytime these commodities lose value in the world market the whole economy shrinks at once.In 2011,Ghana had its highest GDP in history,it's all because these commodities prices were very high in the world market.Then from 2012,when the prices dropped,the whole economy also declined.Therefore,you can see clearly that our leaders have just little role to play in geopolitics.The management of our economy is not in our own countrol entirely so let nobody fools you.Thank you.

What is phenomenal about this manifesto? As ever IMANI has showed its true colours as a partisan institution that should not be taken seriously. What Cudjoe is doing is simply to make amends for earlier comments and statements he had made about the NPP which were condemned vociferously. This manifesto is nothing to write home about. Those tax cuts cannot be implemented within the time schedules they have set. Meanwhile IMANI reacted to the NDC manifesto in 24 hours, but it has taken them more than a week to comment on the NPP debate. Why?

On the contrary,gold production is largely dominated by multinationals.Ghana govt gets only peanut from taxes and Bawumia is saying we should reduce taxes for them so that they can produce more.Coming to the oil production,I don't know any Ghanaian company that is producing oil here,they are all multinationals.So who benefits the reduction of taxes in this country?The local farmers or the multinationals?Now coming to the issue of taxes and increase of revenue.I would like to ask NPP what will happen if you reduce taxes and suddenly cocoa,gold and oil prices in the world market fall?Have we ask ourselves why the Ghanaian economy is declining?It is basically because of the shortfall of prices of cocoa,gold and oil prices in the world market.Anybody can check from year to year the world market concerning these our major commodities and compare to the trend of our GDP records.As for me,I don't see any quality or credibility in NPP 2016 Manifesto.Thank you.

Ghana economic performance depends largely on our leaders only.If we get good prices for our major commodities,the economy flourishes but if the world market prices fall short,definately our economy will decline.The NPP has not taken good accounts of the external factors,they think they can do whatever they like.It's never true that you can sit here in Ghana and pull the strings of world economy just like that.The Americans,English and Italians companies who have invested in our oilfields didn't come here to joke.The mining multinational companies who are into mining in Ghana are here purposely for profits.I wonder what NPP is going to gain for Ghana by reducing taxes for such companies.By the way,there are Free Zones in Ghana that companies can benefit tax exemption for years.Thank you.

How many people have you considered are roped into the tax net as at now to predict massive inflow of revenue to meet the huge infrastructural projects promised. How feasible is the one industry, one constituency slogan going to materialize? Mind you, tax payment has always been an unwelcome civic responsibility of mankind since Adam's era. The idea that cutting taxes always have an exponential growth of revenue base is a mirage due to the inherent human perception.
