Happy- Again, certain things are approached with divine wisdom and not human thinking. It takes a person with sound thinking to decipher between truth and falsehood. In a civilised society we don't glory in people's sickness and health conditions. The publication was just designed to tarnish the prospects of Akufo-Ado in the coming election. Well, going to court is the cheapest and simplest thing any easy thinker can imagine is the right thing to do as you are sauggesting, but in this situation that may not be the right thing to do. So if Nana Ado has not taken any hard action, it doesn't mean it is true. Beside it is not the courts that will produce evidence that the publication is true or false. And lastly the analogy you gave with the mother being dead and so on does not fit in here at all. Try to get the true picture by yourself because I know you can if you want to know the truth.

You don't need a chest x'ray, but a renal ultra sound imaging to reveal a kidney ailment. I don't know if Nana Addo is sick or not, but based on this glaring mistake of not knowing the difference between an x'ray and ultra sound imaging, this article should be taken with a grain of salt.

1. Guys any living human being 70+ years of age must necessarily go for a check up from time to time. It is a preventive measure to keep the body going without a major breakdown. People everywhere do it and those in developing countries such as Ghana need such physical exams most. Any responsible man or woman in a developing country such as Ghana must necessarily see his or her doctor from time to time. This include the editor of Africawatch. Here in the USA, some Health Insurance Companies demand that you go for a full medical exam once a year to maintain your insurance. Again in the USA, any person above 40 years must necessarily do a colinoscopy (using camera to inspect the anus and rectum) every ten years. I am 60 and I have done this test two times. There is nothing wrong for a 70+ plus year old politician to go for a check up. The human body is not a machine and even then, machines do need check ups from time to time (we call it maintenance) so what is the editor of AfricaWatch fussing about Nana Addo escaping to go to Britain for a supposed check up? He should wait until he turns 50 and see if he wouldn't even break up a bank to go for medical check ups.
2. We must also note that our constitution see the wisdom in electing old people as president. In a country where the average or preferably the median age of the whole population is about 23, the framers of the Constitution thought it wise to peg the age of a Ghanaian president at 42+. This age is almost double the median age of the whole Ghanaian population and I believe they were not stupid in pegging the minimum age at 42 and then leaving it at that without contemplating a maximum age for the president. Our problem then is that we should be expecting retired men and women to rule us and one thing which comes with this is that we should not expect to see a fully healthy president (without any form of sickness). It is just natural for old men and women to be operating in human bodies that are more frail than that of 20 to 30 year olds.
3. I have observed that several Ghanaian politicians and journalist speak as if they are gods. Many of these people create fantasies of superiority in their minds and then stand on such complexes to threaten others. For example, the threat by the editor of Africawatch to expose Nana if his aides do not stop criticizing him. Who does he thinks he is. A well read editor will never use such words as Acute, etc in a publication that is likely to be read and analyzed by medical personnel alike. At least use the common english but write the correct medical terms also so those of us who would want to google those terms will not be lost. Some one who claims to be infallible yest does not even know that we do not use X-rays to detect kidneys and such soft tissues as human hearts. Maybe it was the x-ray that the editor used on Nana Addo's heart that caused it to enlarge.
4. I would also like to draw attention of fellow Ghanaians to the fact that a patient's medical records can be obtained easily. In fact, I would challenge the editor of African watch to publish Nana's medical records showing the sources. No responsible medical facility would release a patients medical records to anybody, not even the wife or the husband. I am writing from the US and I am not able to even obtain my wife's medical record to report some sickness I have observed about her so she can go to see a specialist. If the said medical records of Nana Addo is released by any medical facility, the hospital may face some damages that can collapse the facility. This is the same in South Africa, UK and USA so any one who see the editor should challenge him to divulge (not expose) whatever he has about the real health of Nana Addo.
5. I would advise Nana Addo to ignore this uninformed ant who thinks he is a GIANT for empty vessels make the most sound. The writeup does not deserve any response from Nana Addo to dignify it.
