Unfortunately, the Stool of Nungua is occupied by people who belief that selling stool lands is what makes one a chief, instead of protecting the land for unborn generations, like our forefathers did.
However, I believe Judge Adjei was mistaken in his ruling. He should have taken some time to look at the British Archives, to determine the real owner of Greater Accra Lands. I remember seeing a concrete pillar on the beach behind Adam Clayton Power's memorial building in Accra with the clear markings "NUNGUA - ACCRA BORDER". NUNGUA meaning the people of Nungua and ACCRA meaning Ga-Mashie people. This simply means that Nungua people owes the land EAST of the pillar and the Ga-Mashie people owes the WESTERN part.
Actually, oral tradition is supported by that pillar. It simply narrates that the NUNGUA and GA-MASHIE (ACCRA)people arrived first on the Accra Plains during the migration of the
Ga-Dangme, and the Nungua people occupied the East while the Ga-Mashie occupied the West. It stated that later arrivals got lands allocated to them from the Nungua or the Ga-Mashie folks.
The Honourable judge Adjei should have done some real research from the British Archives before giving the ruling. The truth is the Nungua people gave the La people the land when the arrived later. Actually, the La land was given to the La and Teshie people; they are related; the Teshie people were allocated the present land across the Kpeshie lagoon by the Nungua Chief because there was a conflict between the La and Teshie groups, just for peace sake.

Nii Adote: I agree with wholeheartedly with most of your comments. I agree with the original boundaries between Nungua and Ga Mashie that you stated. However after the war between La and Nungua people, some of Nungua lands were taken away and that was cited by the plaintiff. That was the war in which the then Nungua Leader Lawe thumb was said to be cut.
It is undeniable truism that the people of Nungua gave the land to the people of Ga Mashie, La and Teshie. The Osu castle was built with the permission on Nungua, King.
However, the first Gas to arrive at the Accra plains were the people of Tema, followed by Nungua, Ga Mashie or Accra Central, La, Osu and lastly but not the least was Teshie when conflict occurred between La and Teshie group.
