IF INCOME TAX ON A WORKER'S SALARY IS REDUCED, IT WOULD NOT NECESSARILY TRANSLATE INTO INCREASE IN AGGREGATE DEMAND AND THEREBY CAUSE INCREASE IN PRODUCTION AND INCREASE IN EMPLOYMENT.

WHEN TAX IS REDUCED, A WORKER MAY DECIDE TO SAVE THE "INCOME INCREMENT" RATHER THAN SPEND IT ON CONSUMPTION.

Under President John Mahama for the past four years, numerous jobs and opportunity has been created through the 123 community day SHS's, the health facilities spread across the country and even the lots of seasonal jobs that were created through the coming into being of these initiatives.

These are reality, and not the numerous promises, which the NPP can't even tell how, where they are getting the resources from to execute.

Through direct Government interventions and partnerships with the private sector, the following job opportunities have been created:

• Between 2013 and 2015, Government through the Export Trade Agricultural and Industrial Development Fund (EDAIF) supported local industries to the tune of GH¢245.4 million. This amount funded 125 different projects in the production of pharmaceuticals, rice, sheanut, poultry and textiles, creating thousands of jobs;

• The Skills Development Fund (implemented by COTVET) has disbursed a total of GH¢150 million to 654 businesses, which have trained 93,600 people in various skills across all sectors of the economy. A total of 43,485 businesses have also received various forms of support under the Fund.

Through direct Government interventions and partnerships with the private sector, the following job opportunities have been created:

• In line with the policy to attain 100% local printing of textbooks, contracts have been awarded to Ghanaian printing firms and publishers. This policy, alongside the removal of duties on imported raw materials for printing textbooks, is creating about 4,000 jobs;

• Under the Free Zones Board, a total of 69 companies were established between 2013 and 2015, leading to the employment of 16,372 people.

• The Youth in Agriculture programme employed 23,000 youth in 2013 bringing the total number of young farmers under the programme to 81,150.

The numerous hospitals, schools, transport, and the many others means, many people in the next government President Mahama is going to employ lots of the now unemployed.

The NDC government is indeed a government that has demonstrated that it has the solutions to changing the fortunes of lots of the youth around through job creation.

Evidence of this is;

• The Department of Cooperatives registered a total of 1,757 Youth Co-operatives in all the 10 regions leading to the creation of 34,657 jobs; • The Rural Enterprises Project led to the creation of 21,045 jobs across the country between 2013 and 2015.

• GRATIS Foundation under the Ministry of Trade and Industry created 500 jobs through the production of agricultural implements;

• The Micro Finance and Small Loan Centre (MASLOC) advanced micro credit to a total of 190,607 beneficiaries between 2010 and 2015. This has enabled the beneficiaries to set up micro businesses, which are offering jobs to themselves and others. The Centre has also distributed 953 vehicles for commercial transport, and 25 tractors for agricultural use.

With whimsical nonsense, I will say that JM is a sugarcane farm manager because he built a sugar factory. I am going to say that because there is not enough sugarcane, the raw material of the sugar factory,JM has failed. I am callously going to say that JM is a bad komenda sugar factory manager even though ,I know that he is not. I am going to wear propaganda mask and say that Alan was Ayensu starch factory manager .I will say that he couldn't manage a casava farm. I will "gyimiiciously" say that Alan couldn't teach the casava farmers the right thing when I know that the they growing casava before the factory was established.
