Look, the days when soldiers are seen as saviors, is gone with the wind. Rawlings usurped power and try vainly to bury our democratic dispensation but lo and behold, we have reignited it and dare any soldier to try to subvert it.
Our soldiers are part of the numerous problems facing us. They used coups to destroy the little gains we made. Soldiers are there to protect the nation from foreign invasion and not to usurp power and stay on till ..... Rome wasn't built in a day and gradually, we could have done better but our soldiers interventions keep eroding all the gains. They saw coups as a way to instant richness. Look at JJ? Some of us saw him now and then and can testify that he was a prime example of those who benefitted from unrelenting coups. When he came to power for the first time, he look like a Fulani herdsman who hadn't eaten for days but look at him today. He weighs more than 350 pounds and that tells you the benefit of a useless coup.
Rawlings should spare us his usual ranting and return the money he took from Abacha. Foolish man.
