Where were all your highly credentialled, "certificateful" lawyers? Check the Ghana law reports and read about Nana Addo's heroics in the law courts, including defending people some of whom are in the NDC.

Let me ask you a question. You have a case in court that might land in jail for life. Who would you want to be on your side as a lawyer? Nana Addo, a certificateless lawyer who won landmark cases even against dictators, or Dr. Atuguba, a distinguished scholar who got his PhD in law from Harvard but has not won any landmark case in court?

A man who got a third class in economics and went on to become a giant in the law courts inspires me more than a man who got a second class in history and became a grants officer at the Japanese embassy.

Ghana university system is not fair. Ghana's high school system is one of the best in the world. However, at university level Lecturers in Ghana decide the fate of students. I know a lot of 3rd class graduate who passed GMAT and GRE better than so-called 1st class and 2nd upper students. Lecturers are not transparent in Ghana. Ewe lecturers at UCC faculty of Arts eg. were biased to Akan students especially when Rawlings was on power. So please. If Ghana introduces GRE before masters and you will find out that many students with good class will fail. These sex for grade class people boast with it.

Go to City Uni and you can do your lpc there. Even Metropolitan uni offers the lpc. Bristol, Kings, Essex and all offer the LPC so why not do the same in Ghana ? All because of a few interested groups.

Yes, a recognised University will always give you a genuine law certificate. But some lawyers in Ghana have no law certificate or any document to support their law training.

I support you.Abolish the law school.The money saved could be used to support students who are undertaking courses in science and technology.In Ghana we have too many lawyers.Most even don't get work.Any nation that wants to develope needs to invest heavily in science and Technology and the technical profession like maconery ,carpenters ,road builders etc etc.Look closely and learn fron the people of Finnland.At least the law school can be closed for the next 9-10 yrs.
