This is pure empty talk designed to secure the votes of the gullible. What evidence is on the ground over the last 8 years that signifies the NDC is committed to improve agricultural ? JM has superintended over a government that has imposed taxes on common primitive farming implement like cutlass! . Is this a government that is serious about developing agricultural?

Changes in agric sector are extremely promising. However, those changes take more than 4 years of focused, hard work. Politicians lose interest, once they realize that fact. Mahama knows all about it, therefore he knows he is lying to the Ghanaian people one more time on this issue. Plain and simple.

  HIS EXCELLENCY,PRESIDENT MAHAMA,
  HON PRESIDENT MAHAMA:

PLEASE PARDON ME TO SAY, YOUR STRATEGIES FOR AGRICULTURAL TRANSFORMATION IN YOUR NEXT GOVERNMEMT IS TOTALLY WRONG, AND WRONG

IT WILL HAVE NO FUTURE IN THE COUNTRY.

THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY IN THE WORLD HAS UNDERGONE DRAMATIC CHANGES FOR THE LAST DECADES. AS WELL AS PROVIDING FOOD FOR CONSUMPTION AND EXPORT.

THE INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FUTURE CHANGES, IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT AT GHANA'S FARMING SECTOR HAVE TO BE SKILLED TRAINED FARMER ARTISANS AND TECHNICIANS WITH SOUND UNDERSTANDING OF THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY AS WELL AS WITH PRACTICAL EXPERTISE.

FOR THE PAST AND PRESENT THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN PRODUCING FOOD TO FEED THE GROWING POPULATION,HAVE BEEN THE ILLITERATE PEASANT FARMERS.

HOW ON EARTH CAN SUCH INVESTMENT IN A COUNTRY WITH PRIMITIVE AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES(CUTLAS AND HOE) BECOME POSSIBLE FOR THE NATION TO BOOST AND INCREASE ITS AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY IN GHANA.

  IT IS PURELY ILLUSION.

THE STAFF OF THESE INSTITUTIONS YOU MENTIONED HAVE ALL BEEN APPPOINTED THERE FOR YEARS FOR NON-PRODUCTIVE WORK,WHILE THE NATION CONTINUE TO IMPORT FOOD ITEMS TO FEED THE NATION.

IT SOUNDS VERY SHAMEFUL AND DISGRCEFUL THAT CLAIMS TO BE AGRA LAND.

THOSE EMPLOYED TO WORK AT THE MINISTRY OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE,ITS REGIONAL AND DISTRICT CENTRES HAVE ALL NOT BEEN PRODUCTIVE, AT A TIME THAT MILLIONS OF HECTARS OF FERTILE LANDS IDLE AT A TIME THAT, THEY HAVE BE PUT TO PRODUCTIVE USE, GROW AND PRODUCE THE NEEDED CROPS AND ANIMALS TO FEED THE GROWING POPULATION.

THE WORLD HAS CHANGED SINCE 1945, AND IT IS TIME,THE PRIMITIVE SSYTEM AT THE FARMING SECTOR HANDED TO US BY THE DEPARTING BRITSCH ADMINISTRATION SIXTY YEARS AGO IS REFORMED,YIELDING PLACE TO NEW.

IT IS THE SAME MESS THAT CONTINUES TO TAKE PLACE AT THE ECONOMIC SECTOR, WHERE, THE SO CALLED EDUCATED WITH BIG DEGREES AND PHD TITLES ARE STILL NOT UNCONVINCED OF THE IMPORTANCE OF SCIENCE, TECHNLOGY AND INNOVATION AS THE IMPORTANT NECESSARY TOOLS TO CREATE ECONOMIC GROWTH, DYNAMIC INDUSTRIES, MANUFACTURING AND PROCESSING PLANTS,AND TO STIMULATE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, INCOME, CONSUMER SPENDING AND QUALITY OF LIFE IN GHANA.

WHEN A NATION HAS ITS 2/3 OF ITS WORKING FORCE EMPLOYED AT THE PUBLIC SECTOR, WHAT DOES IT HELP A NATION TO HAVE ECONOMIC GROWTH,WHEN SALARIES, WAGES AND ALLOWANCES,DO ACCOUNT 45% OF THE GOVERNMEMT SPENDING.

NEVER WILL SUCH A GOVERNMEMT BE IN THE POSITION TO MEET ITS INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT,HEALTH, EDUCATION, ROADS,TRANSPORTATION, ENERGY,WATER, HOUSING,IN THE COUNTRY.

THE NATION IS THEREFORE DOOMED TO IMF AND THE WORLD BANK.

MR PRESIDENT, MAY I BE PARDONED TO KNOW,WHO ARE THE ECONOMISTS ARE YOU NOT SORROUNDED BY ECONOMISTS,ADVISING ON THE SOCIOECONOMIC MATTERS AFFECTING THE NATION. THESE FOLKS SHOULD HAVE BY NOW KNOWN WHY WE ARE STILL ECONOMIC BACKWARD, UNDERDEVELOPED AND HEAVILY INDEBTED POOR COUNTRY(HIPC)IN THE WORLD.

UNLESS WE KNOW WHERE WE ARE AND WHERE WE ARE GOING,IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR THE NATION TO MEET ITS PRESENT ECONOMIC DIFFICULTIES AND CHALLENGES.

  DEES AND NOT WORDS.

  SAD FOR FURTHER WORDS.
