Ghana’s President Hurls Insults At Obasanjo At African Forum In London - bloomberg
There was near pandemonium and confusion at the Annual Global African Investment Forum held in Westminster, Central London after a heated exchange between Ghana’s President John Mahama and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo degenerated into open insults. This was due to General Obasanjo openly accusing the Ghanaian president and his government of blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, buying numerous properties in Nigeria and South Africa and financially contributing 12 million dollars to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign last year. This infuriated President Mahama who lost his temper and pointing his finger, called General Obasanjo an ” idiot” and a “silly buffoon”.It took other ministers present as well as Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to calm tempers and usher President Mahama to a nearby room. The forum, which takes place from 1st to 3rd December is attended by African Heads of States, Ministers, Private equity firms and investors to discuss opportunities for investment and development in African Economies.

Whether he is a thief or not, JM will surely win. What most people don't know is, this man has been ordained not by man but by God to be president. Therefore no weapon fashioned against him shall succeed. Why is it that many people have lined up to become presidents, but joined on his first attempt and got elected. God is in control and the silent majority will by the grace of God elect him.

I care less what the World Bank says about Ghana. But I do care if I cannot feed my family. I also care if I have no job and unable to pay my high utility bills. The World Bank is not coming to pay them, and that is why I and many others like minded are voting for Nana Akufo-Addo this December 7th.
Democracy is sweet, when I read that 800 Ladies of NDC have left to support the NPP. World Bank can even write to say that the streets of Accra are painted with Gold, and I will not believe them, because I live on the grounds of Accra, and I know better.

If it has been so for a while now, we have not yet seen any positive benefits from that reaching the ordinary folks. Why is that? Could it be Ghana only exists as such for enriching only the outside investors? Our Institutions could still be so inefficient or corrupt that they do not derive any real returns from such investments that outsiders may be pouring into the country; the gains from those investments are all allowed to leave our shores with barely any remnants of wealth left for us. No! That status is meaningless to us unless it is effectively engaging our folks to grow economically, and accelerating our Nation's general development as well. Any macro-economical advancement without concomitant micro-economical surge for the country is worthless and unsustainable.
Long Live Ghana!!!

Ghana is the best place to do business is because Ghana has the best potential in terms of revenue rewards if all is ok and not because of the policies of this incompetent government. Remember any where you strike oil, it automatically becomes a very potential investment magnet. If we had brainy leaders with vision at this stage, we would not have been taking orders from the IMF but floating on the rainbow by now. All we have are thieves and corrupt leaders who think about their pockets before country.

These same figures economists glean their figures from. Who is hungry now in Ghana who would not have been hungry in 2001-2008?
The NPP and their supporters are saying "we do not eat roads, buildings" but they all form of economic indicators. For cup o gari, we wish to send Ghana to medieval times with no developmental structures in place? Some want fat bank accounts in place of development? Everything has improved under this Regime from the NPP era: more private schools with parents affording. more support for Government schools. What is the story?
We must remember that Dr Bawumiah is saying Ghana has collapsed. Is he telling the truth? Someone, somehow in any part of the world will cry hunger, will sleep in the dark and will have some need unmet. These are not indicators.
Somehow, Ghanaians want even better economic life style than that of the developed West where even some still sleep rough under bridges and in make-shift cardboard box structures.
I am a very proud Ghanaian living in this era seeing all the developmental works taking place in Ghana.
The bottleneck from La Olympia Cinema end of the Accra Tema Road through to Teshie which had persisted for years and throughout the tenure of NPP 2001 -2008 has cleared. A two hour journey now reduced to ten minutes to be precise. All this under NDC. The link road from Teshie LasCala to Spinters laid dormant throughout the tenure of NPP, now it has seen massive facelight. Connecting from Teshie LasCala to Spinters Road now is so smooth like knife sliding in butter. This is the progress The Osagyefo was promising Ghanaians.
Certainly, propaganda is same as mercenary actions - strong and powerful. Un-quantified promises are cheap. NPP has nothing to show just to churn out falsehood in a developing country in which whatever you do, you cannot solve all problems in one bash. There has never been a single issue which had been brought to the attention of the NPP flagbearer that has a next term solution tag. All immediate and now after 2017. Oil money is not magic money.
The NDC under JDM is moving creatively and it does not look like the development could be stopped.

This means that, although we are still the region's best performer, we are still very far from our 2012 position. We need to stop talking an start acting.
