The 2000 election was when NPP came mentioning "trillions' in Ghana politics for the first time. Deceiving Ghanaians that the then JJ Rawlings gov't blew up Ghana's money in trillions. Ghanaians were shocked and so voted out the NDC gov't, but NPP lost power 8yrs later when most Ghanaians came to know the TRUTH that they were TRICKED with lies.
Today, 2016 election, NPP is on the same trick deceiving Ghanaians that the John Mahama NDC gov't has blown billions of dollars on nothing.
In order for NPP not to be accused on the trillion allegations NPP was FAST to redenominate the Cedi by dropping 4-zeros to read lesser. So for example 1,000,000,000 will be 100,000 (1 billion is now hundred thousand). They now call this figure Ghana Cedis.

Political forecasts in other jurisdictions are based on objective research with a clearly defined target population and stated margins of error for conclusions. Not in Ghana. Here our professors sit in the comfort of their homes and daydream of what they wish to happen and try to foist that on Ghanaians as work of researchers. I beg to differ. Seriously. How can a head of Political Science Department ignore the accepted way of predictions and engage in this pedestrian speculation? Just to take the lecturer on one issues? How many jobs did Kuffour create in 2004 compared to what Mahama has created when he was re-elcted? The lecturer ought to do a comparative qualitative analysis of Mahama and Kuffour on all the parameters he is using such as unemployment, economy, energy, infrastructure etc. to be able to come out with any credible conclusion. Mere observation of trends in Ghana are not enough, the dynamics of the Ghana defy mere speculation. At best it creates doubt in the minds of some Ghanaians when the predictions don't come true. The NPP in some of their reasons for the 2012 petition pointed to the existence of research findings which pointed to an NPP victory. This is recklessness on the part of academia.

Why are lecturers in our Universities not updating themselves in modern methods of research? No wonder the Universities keep on churning out half baked graduates with little research skills to meet the demands of modern job market. The lecturers are archaic and cannot give what they don't have. This issue could have presented the lecturer with a research topic for his students to go out and gather data on all these parameters that he has identified and see using statistical research tools such as multivariate analysis see how predictive they could be of the elections and the degree of certainty. The results could be published after the elections. Our professors have now also been caught in the frenzy of the religious charlatans parading as men of God and engaging in election lotto forecasting. How sad.

It is not possible for Nana Addo nor Mahama to win a landslide. Anyone reading this should show it to the lecturer. First and foremost, the NDC is most likely to retain its majority in parliament, and there is a strong correlation between the parliamentary and presidential. In fact most presidential candidates get more votes than the parliamentary. Assuming the NPP also keeps it size of the parliamentary seats, it means the rate is tight but for some swing constituencies which usually throw up surprises in the parliamentary elections. It is possible for a challenger to defeat an incumbent in Ghana, but with a landslide, haabba, this professor needs to go for a refresher course on Ghana's elections. It can't happen, it would not happen. A close victory for either NDC or NPP, not landslide, Mr Lecturer stop daydreaming and be objective.

For Bawumia?How many people hear Bawumia apart from the 'elite' and the so call educated people. The masses who are in the villages and the towns and are ordinary people....who are influence by what they see (infrastructure) among other things. To conclude, NPP please do not underestimate NDC.
