For Goodness sake, authors of GhanaWeb articles should learn and be accurate in their usage of English language words. For example, words such as "live"and "leave" are not interchangeable, so are words like "parking" and "packing". The MPs who will not be returning are "PACKING their belongings" and NOT "PARKING their belongings".

It drives me crazy, too. Another widespread clanger, committed even by educated people, is the confusion of 'would' and 'will'. That's also conspicuous in the article, incidentally. The culprits use the conditional mood, when all that's required is a plain future tense.

There's a whole new lexicon of error evolving, exacerbated by the contemptuous disregard of the value of education exhibited by our political masters.

Errors such as the one you spotted, Menua, are often homonyms. With the nation's burgeoning illiteracy, and our discourse increasingly dependent on voice (as distinct from the written word), the contagion is, sadly, only too obvious.
